I am not a fan of brushing over House's entire recovery, though I am a fan of showing sweaty Hugh Laurie just fine. I wish they could have gone through his rehab, as his recovery provides most of the interest his injury generates. Really, it would have meant not having everyone just giggle and preen at him for being back, which got old fast. Best part of the episode was House dashing off in the midst of Cameron attempting (FEEBLE HUMAN) to bribe an admission that his life didn't suck out of him. Heeeeeee!!!
Chase, Cuddy, Foreman, you are all looking gooood. Wilson, Cameron, not so. Robert Sean Leonard hasn't looked brilliant in a while, but he's looking especially shabby now. I hate Cameron's haircut already, and I hated her through the whole episode. Cuddy is exclusively allowed to tell House no, which was a brilliant plot point and important character point besides, but Cameron is not. Cameron is not allowed to tell House that he's torturing the guy when she refused to tell a woman she had terminal cancer. House's stringing the guy along might prove to be false hope, but Cameron's stringing along was false hope, she knew it, and she wouldn't reveal it. That's criminal.
But Cuddy? She is that awesome! House? He is that cool! I want Cuddy in negligee more often. She looks better than Cameron does in her stupid slinky outfits.
Am not happy that House thinks his leg is hurting--I want him to be challenged by being well, damn it! And sneaking around to get meds, too easy of a naughty habit lecture episode coming up. Also? I'd appreciate it if they never said "House faces his most challenging/bizarre/superlative" case ever. They never are, they never are remembered, so they can't really be that important. Just advertise the truth, and I guarantee the audience will still be there next week.
The truth: "Next week, there are some people who will have total body shut-downs at least three times. House will be dismissive, indulgent, abusive, confused, angry, snarky, and then smugly triumphant. Cameron will suck, Chase will kiss ass, and Foreman will be useless. Wilson will bitch and Cuddy will be awesome. This is all you could possibly care about in this show, so stay tuned!
