Oct. 2nd, 2006 10:52 amHousewarming was a tremendous success, if I do say so myself. It was good to see folk, meet folk, et al. Yours truly wasn't ever drunk, which is good, just buzzed, which is better. Friends from out of town coming in for your party = awesomeness (hi Liz M! hi theKathy!). Columbia's loss to Princeton was ridiculous, but the party smoothed that out nicely.
darkling1's kind provision of a DVD player has already been field-tested and works wonderfully, as has the GC extension cord we got from our former roommate and her boyfriend (hurrah! no more leaning--we can recline as we play video games, just as God intended!). To those who brought alcohol and drinks or food of other sorts, bless you all. For just coming, thanks! Our liquor cabinet was anemic pre-party, with some Bundaberg and a few odd bottles of liquor; post-party, I could barely fit what was left over, and that was after half of it had been drunk at the party. The fridge is a little less full now, but still needs some thinning out, especially as the bottled drinks have this perilous condition of falling off shelves and shattering on the floor (guess who was still cleaning up shards by Sunday evening?).
Terribly exhausted now, but mostly from staying up until three playing Lego Star Wars II and from letting the kittens sleep in my room (Wally is a dear sweet love, but if he continues licking my nose when I want to sleep, no matter how calmly he sleeps after, he's not invited back in). The kittens are enjoying their freedom again, after being shut up for two days, by tearing ass around the house and doing their best to kill each other (but not really). Normality has been restored at a probability of 2 to the power of 19375856235983424342346669 to 1 against...

Date: 2006-10-02 03:39 pm (UTC)Even though I spent most of the time with your roomie Liz and her friends. (they're very cool, btw)
And yes, I managed to drink a Q concoction (and a Harlon one too) and survive!

Date: 2006-10-02 08:45 pm (UTC)The cats had quite the evening. I found a cup of suspicious clear liquid and beer bottle in their room, so they can't really complain.
