Thank Jeebus, that preview kiss was Sawyer being awesome not him actually falling for Kate's non-attractive anything. Okay, I take that back. Evageline Lily is a pretty girl. Or, rather, she's half of a pretty girl. If you gave her twenty pounds, I'd grant you that she was a pretty girl. So, no personal disparagement there.

But Kate is the least interesting person on the island after Charlie, and she's more annoying than Charlie for being touted all the fucking time. If the people on Craphole Island were shows on TV, Kate would be Veronica Mars (and, in case anyone's forgotten: I CANNOT STAND HEARING ABOUT VERONICA MARS). Charlie would just be The War At Home or some other equally forgettable show on Fox that manages to survive despite being less good than all the shows that got cancelled (like Desmond--Desmond would be Firefly to Charlie's War at Home; hell, I'd sooner accept them bringing back Clancy Motherfucking Brown from the dead and killing off Charlie).

Ahem. Anyway, glad that Sawyer used kissing her as a distraction. No offense, I'd be distracted plenty by getting to watch Sawyer kiss anyone, even Kate. Kudos to Juliette, who is turning out to be majorly cool for an Other, to stopping that shit cold. And calling him "James." Right there, Sawyer scored even huger points with me because he didn't flinch at the name. He knows that she knows his real name in that second, and yet doesn't even react. And he sized up Juliette as a tough bitch, rightly, and backed off. Personally, I'd have let Kate go splat, but chances are good Juliette would have had Sawyer on the business end of her firearm before he could get to her after she shot Kate. She's been in two episodes, and I already likke Juliette more than Kate, so I have no problem with her charming Jack and Sawyer. Hell, that would be a hot-as-hell threesome.

Oh, right, and there was a rest-of-episode, something about Sun having actually cheated on Jin, and that blows. I really liked that she had a miracle with Jin--a baby that was theirs despite an inability to conceive--and this calls that into question (plus, makes her a point-blank liar on an issue decidedly more important than her concealing her ability to speak English). What's up with Jin being so domineering all the time? I know he was that way at first on the island, but he was totally broken down and made to see how wrong that was, and how his attituded was what was costing him Sun in the first place. When he got back from the aborted attempt to escape on the raft, he and Sun were so cute together, I died a little (they had that great moment where he's all shirtless and she's all over that body, and Hurley looks over and gives them an approving nod and a thumbs up). Charlie's ruse about the Others attacking Sun in her garden and Jin flipping out? Him screaming at her on the boat? Gah?

And Jae was pushed. It would have been more ambiguous if Jin had a) known about the affair, and b) hadn't been seen to be nowhere near the guy when he landed on the pavement. This way, we know Jin didn't kill him, and we "wonder" who did while being cheated of the ambiguity of wondering whether Jin was the one to do it. Since whoever did it isn't on the island (it wasn't Sun, so that's a fair assumption), it doesn't really matter to the story between the characters who are. Bor-ing.

I much prefer Zapped!Sawyer's few seconds of pissing off the Others on his work detail ("She got to ask a question" heeeee). And, although the previous episode was a bunch of melodramatic muck, I did actually hurt for Jack a little. He's all alone, and he's clearly defeated yet defiant all the same. His not eating, not responding at all to Juliette is a tad worrisome--it only took sixty-nine days to make Jack insane! woo!--but nothing is as scary as his reaction to Ben showing him clips from the outside world. Because it totally looks like Jack would jump on board any plan of the Others' if it meant getting back to the world that TV clip came from. Either that or, contrary to just about every episode save one, Jack has one hell of a poker face, and he's going to use his utter brokenness combined with that to pull one over on Ben.

Yeah, I think Sawyer's got the better tack. He knows they know that his playing along is fake, so no one is fooling anyone, and the guns and stunners really are the only thing keeping Sawyer in line. There's no Stockholm Syndrome, no timidity there. I fear what the Others--probably Juliette--will do to Sawyer to break him. I don't know that anyone can, but if they start with knowledge of who he is and what he's done (and, maybe, what he's done that only he and a dead guy know about), they might manage it. You don't put someone with Sawyer's skills, wiliness, and determination to live free or die in a position where he might be reduced to the state of someone like Jack. You just don't, Others, so be careful about poking that bear.

Things:

Sawyer is hot. Hot hot hotttttt. With like seven thousand extra t's on the end of the word. Seriously, I don't even care who the fuck he kisses so long as I can pretend I'm her. I'm back to not minding Kate because she hasn't done anything horrendously annoying in the last two episodes and she looks pretty next to Sawyer and gives Sawyer something to kiss.

I agree, I don't like that Sun cheated on Jin, but... I do like that she shot the woman on the boat. I like that her threat wasn't idle. I like that they don't make her the timid innocent woman, and since everyone else on the damn island is in the morally sketchy boat already, I'm not even bothered by the cheating because the miracle baby COULD still be Jin's. We don't know how long in advance of them crashing she slept with the other guy.

And, previews!! We apparently get Desmond next week. Woooo Desmond! He can kiss Kate for all I care, too. He deserves some love.

... wow, I'm totally posting drunk. Chee! Drunkz0rs.

Amen, Sister Inebriated! There should be a separate class of hot for Sawyer because day-um.

I got the impression she was pushed into shooting her but it was mostly not on purpose--like she got spooked or something. But yay for Sun actually doing something. Jin going after her in the water was adorable, too.

Yay for Desmond next week! He can't kiss Kate, though. I know they introduced him and Penelope at the last second in one episode, but they are already an OTP. Penelope rocks, too.
