Oh noes! Four movies are going back in the Disney vault and you can never, ever have them evers!

Except, of course, that one of the movies is a direct-to-DVD sequel to Lady and the Tramp, and another is The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, which is the first in a series and there's no way they're not re-releasing a super-super-super special edition when the next one comes out (I think they have three versions in stores already right now, I shudder to think what their boxset will look like).

So, yeah, if you're at all worried about missing your chance to own Bambi or Lady and the Tramp, go get those. If you think you need Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp's Adventure, let me know. I'll come to your house and slap you until you stop wanting it.

ETA: For those of you who bought BTVS season-by-season, Best Buy has the seasons on sale for $20 right now. FYI.

ETAA(gain): FUCK! FIREFLY IS ON SALE FOR $20! I guess I'll be waiting a bit longer to pick up the next season of Doctor Who. Heeeeeee!!!! I have something to spend my Best Buy monies on!!!

In other news, I defy any of the ID'ers that exist to explain to me why, if evolution is bunk, the thin covering of bacteria overgrowth at the top of my flask looks, smells, and feels like algae (which are evolutionary cousins)? It was kinda fun to play with, actually. Mmm, bacteria. Now, I go get lunch. And hope to hell those gloves kept all the nasty gunk out.

Okay, I totally just gave Best Buy far too much money for three seasons of Buffy and five seasons of Angel. My collection is complete!

Congrats! They have me for the Firefly. I have this weird inability to commit to Buffy though. I dunno. It seems like so much television, I wouldn't be sure I'd watch it again to make it worth it. Would be a good gift for my mother for mother's day, though....

I thought you had Firefly already, else I would have mentioned it... If it isn't advertised in their circular, you might want to order it online for in-store pickup, just in case it was an online only price.

I was thinking of doing that anyway, like ordering it to the midtown location or else the one on 23rd street. I could pick it up at either on Saturday or Sunday.

There's also one closer to where the Buffy musical is, if we're doing anything down there beforehand. 622 Broadway or something like that, the Noho branch.

I saw that, too. I dunno, what were you doing beforehand? We could go get dinner before we head over to the show, and I could get down there early to pick up stuff from the store.

Not sure. I was thinking of going to organize stuff in my storage locker during the day, but may just write instead. Dinner sounds good, but it would have to be a late one, as there's a lot of time to kill before midnight. We should probably get there early in any case.

Since the show is downtown and late, I was thinking of persuading [livejournal.com profile] feiran to come hang out at my place for part of the afternoon/evening so I can show her some television she should see, like Mr. Bean and Quantum Leap (which she was only interested when I told her Dean Stockwell co-starred in it). In the unlikely event that occurred, you would be welcome to join us.

That's okay--I've seen it :) I like it well enough, but not marathon-length enough or anything. I'll probably work on picking up my movies.

But yeah, let's do dinner around then, nine-thirtyish? ten? Then we can get to the theater ahead of time. I'll see when Michelle is coming into the city.

Oh, are you guys going to that? It's fun, even if the organizer is the saddest fanboy ever.

Oh really? Well, even sad fanboys can be fun in their element...right?

If you don't mind wincing and muttering under your breath "When the hell is he going to shut up?", of course. It's a horribly mean spirited fun, but fun nonetheless.

You SO have to come to one of the Browncoat meetups =-þ Plenty of folks to talk Firefly with (as well as Buffy and other shows). Plus they meet in a bar called "House of Brews". Come one, you know you want to =-þ

I don't like beer though! Is this the NYC group with the yahoomailinglist? Because I think I thought about going once, but meh, dunno.

Yup that's the one. Oh and the place has non-beer type drinks too. Mostly we hang out and chat for a few hours about stuff.

I met a couple of the Browncoats at a KGB Reading and they thought they knew me...they may have recognized me from one of the screenings. I didn't know you were in the group too!

You know how the story goes. You know one person in the group. You drop by. Suddenly you're part of the group. It's like an infection ^_^

Okay, fine, nothing wrong with them, but they're not movies I would rush out and buy because Disney is threatening me. I'll do my best to run out and grab Lion King and Beauty and the Beast when they're available again.

Yeah, my boneheaded fault. I caught on late to the Disney DVD craze. Meh, it'll be back in a few years.
