City of Death, the latest Doctor Who disc to come to me via Netflix, might be my favorite thing since salt and vinegar chips. I popped it in and was immediately taken with the dialogue. The old-skool Who mostly sets up for the Doctor to make some snarky comment or a silly face here and there, but this one was rat-a-tat-tat with the zingers, and not only from the Doctor.
I watched it through wondering if, maybe, 'cause he was script editor, Douglas Adams had anything to do with the plethora of dry-satire wisecracks and insanity that went on. At the end, I checked the special features which had an "information text" option, put it on and watched. Sure enough, Adams rewrote entirely a previous script that had to be redone because of shooting/budget problems. Heee! This fills me with as much glee as I get reading Hitchhiker's and Who crossover stuff with none of the shame because it's real! Not fanfic! Woo!
