My parents were super-tolerant of me this weekend, meaning they came and picked me up in addition to dropping me off, which is a super luxury when you live as far uptown as I do (for me--it's actually easier for them to drop me off now than it was before). To make this even more wonderful, they gave me the old desk from the front hall for
feiran and helped (aka did it for me) me get it into the car. I got a really nice rolling chair for my desk (
feiran will take my desk chair for the other desk). I got to go spend the last of my Christmas Best Buy monies, and whatever else was extra (about $40-50), my dad picked up (to be fair, he was spending $90 himself). I got Animaniacs Vol 2 (see,
umeyard, it's not that hard!) and X2 (didn't have that one yet), along with some Disney movies and a DVD rack.
The rack isn't all that great, but it'll last for while we have this place (I hope). Mostly, it was a good way to recharge for this week, when my boss gets back and I have to cram things in before I leave again on Thursday for the Cheerleading Nationals in Disney World. I did laundry, bought the kitties enough food to last them until fall, and let Devin drive me around (I LIVE ON THE WILD SIDE). Of course, I also got loaded down with food to take back, and a really nice bottle of French dessert wine. This is the first wine I've ever had that never tastes like it has alcohol in it. You drink it and you feel only the warm sensation on the back of your throat to know you've ingested any liquor. It's fabulous. I ate some green grapes while I had the wine and there was a very little difference between the savory taste of the two. Mmmm.
Ahhhh, relaxed. Of course, I got home and
feiran and I cleaned and arranged the office to within an inch of its and our and the kitties' lives, which is nice but tiring, so I hope to fall asleep reeeeeeally quick tonight especially since I was up to 5 am watching Terminator 2 (I dunno how some of you people fall asleep to movies; I kept thinking I would, I was plenty tired, but it didn't happen; also? T2 has held up exceptionally well for a movie fifteen years old in terms of special effects and breaking my heart). I have about thirteen new books to try and read, and I will, since I'll be a long time waiting on my plane on Thursday, stupid group check-in policy... ::grumbles::
