FLAILING!

There's nothing like a great, angsty bit of show to put behind me a long, awful morning. It even makes being sick a little easier.

Oh my fucking God, where do I start?

First things first? I am fucking pissed that I only just found out about the hiatus today. Fuck! What the hell do I have to look forward to on Mondays now? NOTHING, THAT IS WHAT. I understand the season needs to last until May or something, but does it really have to?

Flail the first: Mr. Bennet! Christ, how much to I want to punch the new chick in the face right now? A fucking lot, that's how much. How dare she be a total suckhead to the most awesomest guy ever? Seriously, the prep Bennet put into protecting Claire is amazing, especially since it relied on Mrs. Bennet (and they two are so awwwwww-dorable, I nearly cried). Oh, if something happens to him, I will cry until my eyes leak blood, I swear.

Flail the second: Nathan and Hiro! Man, it was some night to be a Petrelli, but these two have the greatest chemistry (nonsexual, I suppose I should say) on the whole show. The bit of Nathan that is reckless and determined really likes Hiro's live-for-the-dream optimism. It's so sad that they understand each other better and better as Hiro's become disillusioned and Nathan has started to have hope. They spin off from each other into awesomeness--Hiro back to Ando, Nathan to do what's right (for like the first time ever).

FLAIL THE MOSTEST AWESOME THING EVER: Sylar and Mohinder's exchanges.

I did not ever suspect Mohinder of being capable of any of the awesome shit he pulled off tonight. The drugging thing, meh whatever. He gets the major points for working out a way to drug Sylar to keep him down (even if it didn't work long-term, it was enough, and more than anyone else has managed). And then the tuning fork. I saw that shit and was like, "Uh, are you going to shove that up his nose into his brain or something?" THEN HE USED SOUND TO TORTURE SYLAR. Fucking awesome man. That's...like the most incredibly intelligent we've seen Mohinder do to date. It was simple, it was elegant, it was effective--Le Chiffre would be proud of Mohinder, methinks.

The bit in the middle with stabbing Sylar to extract spinal fluid is...curious to say the least. Previously, Bennet's company determined there wasn't anything in Sylar's genes that made him the way he was--or, at least, they couldn't find it. Mohinder sequencing and some such in about two seconds is ridiculous, but I'm glad we saw a revisit to the idea of "patient zero." It's still totally bullshit for a theory premised off of genetic, not disease, progression, but I need to rewatch to see exactly how it was used.

And then the tables were turned...^.^

Sylar's faking humanity was especially good this episode, so his complete snap out of it was so chilling, more so than when he drops the creepy, half-assed version of a human being he normally puts up. The actor playing him did a phenomenal job appearing innocent and confused and--GASP--scared when Mohinder had the upper hand. We saw Gabriel Gray again. Then we saw, in one short exchange between Sylar and Mohinder how Gray became Sylar all over again. Amazing. Still breathless. Still wetting myself over Sylar.

Best thing Sylar's ever done? Shove Mohinder to a ceiling. I hope Mohinder is dead, honestly, but he's probably not. I wish the same thing about Peter, but I know he isn't. Still, the episode ended so lovely, what with Sylar doing the world a favor and cutting Peter's hair. If only Sylar could rip out Peter's brain. And then Isaac's. In fact, I'd like to volunteer all the people on this show who are annoying or whiny to have their brains eaten by Sylar. Then, I would like to nominate to get mine eaten by Sylar so I can act out fantasies from inside his body. Seriously? His complete and utter EVIL make me so hot.

I forgot to say--MRS. PETRELLI OMG!!!! I really love the actress who plays her. She's imperious, vulnerable, smart, tough, and caring. Suddenly, I just...got her. I understood why she is the way she is about her boys. Why she treats Nathan like shit (why he does it in kind) and loves Peter. How come she would tell Nathan to steer clear of Claire--protective instinct for her grandbaby, but, also, sort of, knowing how watched Claire is, some actual evidence of love for her oldest son. Her working with the Haitian all along is boggling. What would the Haitian have done to Nathan had he and Bennet held onto him? Was the Haitian responsible for the fact that Nathan was never approached again? Or was that an order from Linderman?

Aaaaand, speaking of, I wasn't impressed with Linderman, mostly because nothing he's done, his interest in the supers, has really been defined by his short little soliloquy. I did love how Nathan turned out to be working to get Linderman all along, which smooths the rough patches of "Six Months Earlier" and how he went from trying to bring the guy down to taking money from him. Dear God, did I want Nathan to shoot the guy, and the consequences be damned. I want to believe that the reason he did not was that the consequences were too great, and that the information about his family, his various family members' abilities, et al. was more important than the 30 pieces of White House silver offered in return for Linderman's life. I have to believe Nathan is better than that. Because he could have just done the easy thing and used Linderman to forward his career all along. He was trying to get at the bastard that crippled his wife--and in that, and thinking about his family, Nathan proves he really is a good guy.

::huggles self:: Delicious episode. Just wondrous.

Linderman's speechifying didn't impress me, though I guess he was fairly clever in his own way. What ever it is he wants to offer Nathan, though, Nathan should have shot him. Because there's no way that won't still come with a price.

As for Niki and Jessica, meh. They need to merge, Sybil-style, and stop being so indifferent to the story.
