You know, it's easy to forget what being sick is like.

Mercifully, whatever it was that was going through the lab doesn't come with congestion, so I can breathe. The mucous-y, tickling cough is pretty bad, but manageable if I don't laugh or talk too much, and it's productive, so at least it feels like some phlegm is cleared with each coughing fit. It's the fever and the aching joints that bother me most. The fever isn't too bad (102F), it just saps my energy. Taking some Advil cleared it up a little, so it's less ucky, but the joint discomfort is still there. I can feel how I'm lying down when I do, exactly where all the pressure is on my body, and that's the crankiest part. This is what I imagine being old to be like.

If the course of this is anything like what it's been for others, the fever and aches will go away in a day or two, but the cough is going to persist. I apologize now to all the people I saw this weekend (figures: I am at my most contagious at the time I just happen to see almost everyone I know). If you get sick, it's my bad, and I owe you candy or soup or whatever would make it up to you.

No worries from this corner. You're like the 3-4th person I was around with those symptoms and I haven't come down with it. It's possible I had a earlier version of the same strain last year and I'm riding that immunity right now. Either that or my diet is again shielding me from things ^_^

I really thought I was in the clear because I'd weathered the last three people around me getting sick and had nary a symptom. They're all about past the really contagious phase, too. Alas, the stress of last week and sleeplessness there caused are probably to blame.

Yes, it did. I appreciate that. Also, complex sentences getting difficult...might need more drugs.

Mmm, I'm just taking advil. That helps the joint pain and eases the fever without making me sleepy like most decongestants do. I is already sleepy enough.

Then sleep.
Thats usually the best thing to make you better. Let your body just shut down for a bit :)

musinex is good for decongestant. No side effects like cold and flu meds, but its only good if you need goo broken up in your lungs and stuff. Ask Big D, he might have some suggestions.

I don't actually even have congestion. Just a cough, and that's not half bad.

I don't wanna sleep though. Must be awake for a little while at least.

ARGH I hope this isn't why I'm back to coughing again. My throat's all nasty again and it had cleared up beyond a tickle/irritation that was just leftover from the prior nastiness. But now it's all gross again, and I've been exhausted.

Wtf yo.

cheers for that. I'm hoping to be back at the rat races tomorrow, so it can't be all that bad.

I didn't start feeling bad until yesterday. Cough, throat tickle, some fatigue and achy muscles. Dr. diagnosed me w/ an upper respiratory infection.
