Well, shortly before leaving, I ran into, oh my stars and garters, surprise surprise, other Michelle (Butler/Australia Michelle shall henceforth be known as the Mouth, as that's what mostly annoys me, on a recommendation from NY Michelle) and Justin stopped in. Turns out they were 'in for the evening' crashing here. I managed to impress and possibly make jealous the Mouth when I said I was off to see my parents and sisters. That felt GOOD.

Then it turns out they're literally two blocks from Unilodge, which is cool. I met Drew and Devin in the lobby just as they were about to head back upstairs (I told them 15 minutes! I was there in 10! That's light speed, no, ludicrous speed for me!) They were all cute, got hugs right before Devin dashed back to catch the elevator she'd called, narrowly making it in. I got hugs from my parents and Linda Miller, family friend who's traveling with. They climbed the bridge in Sydney! Soooo jealous, and sooooo on the list of things to do with Dana and Carrie.

We ate dinner at the hotel 'cause they professed to be starving and in need of food now versus food great/not-too-expensive. That was okay, I got me a chicken caesar salad and learned two things about ordering that in Australia in the process: one, they put a fried egg on the salad, and two, not to order it again (was bland, not bad, just not great). We chatted and chatted, it felt sooooo good to be among people whose sense of humor I *get* and who I can yuck it up with. Like old times on car trips to the middle of nowhere only in a cooler place and no car.

They, of course, promptly fell asleep on me after dinner, all being quite tired and honestly probably still jet-lagged. We're going to Vic Market waaaay too early tomorrow morning, then Phillip Island for the Koalas and Penguins. Sunday's the Great Ocean Road, which should be mucho excellent, especially as they're paying! Then I can see what to take people back to and what I can skip when playing Melbourne hostess later.

The cap of the evening was making all of about an hour's worth of chit-chat with Alex from karate. Met another girl, though have forgotten name, who does karate and two of Alex's friends, all incredibly sweet and giving lots of ideas for going out, most out of the city. Need to explore St. Kilda some more!

Whew! Well, off to bed for an early start tomorrow! Wildlife here I come!

Asskick! Take notes on fun stuff for when I come to visit. :-)

Okay, my current plan is to come by maybe on the 25th, in two weeks (which means I need to buy a plane ticket ASAP), directly from the KAOS 48-hour party in Christchurch, and to stay with you for either one or two weeks. Mostly I need to know what's convenient for you, and to check in with the people here that I made tentative plans with before the belt grading was rescheduled. I'm hoping for a little time to explore my own host country, and some things--like skiing--can't be put off until summer. But anyway, let me know if the 25th to either the 1st or 8th would be okay. Or what span, in between those dates, would be best.

Say hi to your family for me and pass along my message of LOVE AND PEACE! How long are they visiting? And what's with Dana, is she visiting separately, and will that overlap with me? Chee, girls loose in Aussie!!!!!

MUAHAHAHAHA. Cheers!
