This is Tom DeLay, the asshat guy who used to be the majority leader of the House of Reps--meaning he was the #3 guy in line for the presidency. And he was SO CORRUPT. Like UNAPOLOGETICALLY and OPENLY corrupt. Texas, his state, wanted him for like half a billion crimes, and he wanted to hold his job even though they were indicting him. The Republicans eventually figured out this would look EXTREMELY bad for them to support him, but he was a notorious strong-armer. It was hard for THEM to get him out of the job.

And he's smiling for his mugshot with that same smug, homicidal expression that says, "When this is over, I'm going to rape your mother and pull her liver out with my bare hands and eat it in front you and her while she slowly dies. Then I'll probably do the same to you." It freaks me out, man. Worse than the Paris Hilton one where she's trying to seduce the picture-taker to get her ass out of jail UNFAIRLY just that much earlier.

Does it make me a bad person that when I read in the paper that she'd been crying hysterically on the prison phone, I thought "Good.". ?

It might make you a bad person, but trust me: when I heard she was going back to jail, I was smiling ALL DAY. Especially when I read that her mother bleated about the injustice of it all and swore it was vindictiveness and then turned aorund in a huff going, "And after we spent all that money on lawyers!" Yeah, so not sorry she's back in jail.
