Okay, so it's just "some guy" talking about it, but there's now a report that Cillian Murphy will be in The Dark Knight.

On the one hand: FUCK YES. On the other, I worry this will overshadow the Joker. Depending on how well Ledger does with the Joker, that would either be sad or catastrophic (meaning, if he does a poor job and gets upstaged by Cillian Murphy as the goddamned Scarecrow, I'll cry for a year; if he does a good job but still gets upstaged, I'll burn down Warner Brothers--and the Warner Sister, too).

I am also now HORRIBLY FRIGHTENED by how many people are being either used, introduced, or starring in this movie. I'm getting the butterflies that casting rumors about Spider-Man 3 generated, and look how that turned out. We have a MAJOR new character being introduced--the motherfucking JOKER, man--in addition to the rumors fed me by decidedly and all the returning ensemble (who are all returning, just one of them in the form of another person's body).

::clutches at the fandom, rocks back and forth:: don't want it spoiled, don't wanna let it be spoiled, don't let it be spoiled!!!

And Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury. Would have been better fifteen years ago, but I'd still buy it (for a dollar).

Cillian's indeed back. Don't worry, he doesn't have a huge role, but it is an important one. I'm not going to spoil you, but I am highly intrigued at the plot this one has.

Also, if eyewitness and film crew member accounts are any indication, Ledger is amazing as the Joker. From what I've read, it's definitely different - word on the street is that the crew finds him incredibly creepy and they devolve into gushing about him and what he's doing like they're thirteen. Something tells me there will be no overshadowing of the Joker happening.
