This means I have to start watching The West Wing, doesn't it?

*GRINS* Yes. Yes you do. It is quite simply the best show ever made that doesn't involve special effects and Jensen Ackles. Just -- there are not words enough to convey how much I love the characters in that show. (All of them -- which is impressive. I'm even not "meh" about a single one of them, at least through Season 4.)

I think I totally wet myself at the end when he's yelling at the woman about the sitting thing. That was a truly excellent point. As for the rest of it, it was so flawlessly done, my jaw fell open.

...yeah, all the bits that Aaron Sorkin writes? The first four seasons? Are pretty much like that every single episode. I want to live in the America where Jed Bartlet is president, dammit.

As I would be willing to live in a country where an inanimate carbon rod was president over living in the one we've been subjected to for seven years now? Yes, I can see how, without the awesomeness, that is true.

With it, I debate with myself overthrowing term limits.

I DO TOO! (Sorry, we don't know each other, but I love what you said, cause I've thought it for years) :)

There was actually a screamingly awesome thread on Making Light at one point (maybe on Electrolite, back then) in which a sort of game was played, in which The West Wing from a President Jed Bartlett universe was commented on.

The plotlines and scandals in the fictional Bush WH were widely laughed at for being unbelievably farfetched.

I correct myself. It was, in fact, on Electrolite before the merger: http://nielsenhayden.com/electrolite/archives/005602.html

I correct my correction -- similar thread, but different. I may have simply misremembered.

Yup. That show kicked ass once upon a time. :)

I might check it out then. It seems to be getting good reviews all around.

Yes, you do! Why haven't you already! :)

That clip isn't even as awesome as it gets.

I tremble at the thought of more awesomity. I might have to go slowly here.
