How do I love Dexter? Let me count the ways...
Okay, for realz,
feiran and I are going to have to fight it out for Dexter after this. There was a dream montage of Dexter as a comic-booky version of himself. In leather. Still wearing part of his rubber killin' apron. I think I might have died a lot. In the very, very good way. It was totally hokey in some respect, and I was almost embarrassed to watch it--Dexter having dreams of grandeur is just...weird--but I completely want to hump the man until I break his pelvis with Amazonian-style snoo-snoo.
I wonder how hilarious that whole sequence must have been to shoot. Probably "very."
And Lila has completely grown on me. I am still on edge with her strange seduction routine, but, as I said to
feiran, I'm pretty sure she's just substituted one addiction for another at this point and can't even help it much. If that's true, I appreciate her restraint; if Dexter came and curled up in my lap, I'm pretty sure things would have worked out differently than they did on the show. Lila's got some great complexity to her that serves the whole story better than just having her be "edgy artist girl." She still seems to be winging the therapy thing, but when it mattered, she had absolutely the right response to Dexter's near relapse.
I am a bad person for still finding the drug metaphor for serial killing hilarious, aren't I? I just do. It's so funny to think Dexter has "a killing problem." Like the worst of the worst parts about being PC gone completely gonza-crazy. I love it.
