HAHAHAHA, YES OMG! That was so damn awesome.

And his inspiration of Saturday morning cartoons made me GLEE SO MUCH.

Though what WAS that when the judge whose name I don't remember started *crying* over Lucien's collection. I was laughing even as I felt badly about it. Then I tried to picture Nina Garcia doing the same thing and laughed so much harder.

I was sorry for MG, but her collection totally got weird and not-her and just...weird. I loved her shirt though. That was fantastic.

I know, I know! He said "Saturday Morning Cartoons--the goods ones, not the shit that's on now," and I exploded. When he name-dropped She-Ra over the gold and white hoodie dress, I died.

OMG the tension though. They spent so much time on him and I was like, "Okay, this means he wins, RIGHT?" Which I totally still felt bad about wanting, even though I've loved everything he's done from the very start and watched him specifically all along, because he totally cram-studied for this final. He's like that kid you knew in class who'd do nothing all semester, then study one night and get a better grade. I wanted to kill him when he decided to make another dress instead of getting his sent to him. AND HE HADN'T MADE SOME PIECES!?! ARGH! I felt bad wanting to reward that.

But then they had the runway show, and MG went and I just wanted to cry. I was sure she was going to win if she'd kept to her own design aesthetic. Then Lucian went and I was like, "This blows. It's ugly and the shoes were a terrible choice. Like the hats. The only way this wins is if this is mysteriously 'fashionable' in that way I'll never really understand."

THEN BIDDELL WENT AND EVEN MY ROOMMATE WAS BLOWN AWAY. Regardless of the green hoodie shirt or that fuchsia dress he made at the last minute, there were, for the first time, pieces that SLAYED me. I must, must, must have that black coat and the white one. They were just beautiful, well-crafted, funky pieces of awesome. Absolutely DIED. Haven't wanted something so fiercely since Jeffrey's signature dress in his collection.

Then the judges loved Lucian's collection!?! I wanted to strangle Rita for crying. (On a side note: I tried picturing Nina doing that? The woman was needed there; she would have bitch-slapped Rita with just one raised eyebrow. Nina for the win!) They had a friggin' auction for charity for kids in Africa, and what makes her cry is Lucian using some pastels and butterflies? Shit, woman, where are your priorities? I was too tense to watch the deliberations, so I skipped the judges comments. Literally, watching Rita fight so hard to give it to Lucian would have killed me before I found out who won.

Heart attacks all over this one. When it came down to it, I didn't want Lucian to win. Biddell was my favorite, but I loved MG (is she too cute for words or what? like all the time!) and she would have been an acceptable winner, too. Lucian's smug-ass passive-aggressive stuff is clearly understated by the show (much as I'm sure Biddell's aggressive-aggressive stuff is overstated), and I would have screamed had he won. I'm glad they gave the prize where it should always go: towards forwarding the career of an unknown, hot new talent (which, come to think, is probably why I'm utterly indifferent to the PR S4 crowd since they're ALL established at this point).

I know, right? I have to admit, I like Lucian, but not his runway collection. (Although pictures of his fall show are kind of cool in a steampunky kind of way) I was afraid that if they gave the win to Biddell, he would fritter it away, but I know Lucian has the skill and the business sense to make it on his own. Biddell needs the funding more.

And I am SO in love with the coats. *wants* That green outfit was ugly as heck, but everything else was WIN!

I loved the color. It was definitely child-like and cartoony in its bold uses of stark colors against blacks. I loved that.

And yeah, Biddell needs to learn how to business-manage, regardless of what he said about not wanting to do that and to leave it to a partner. Because that's absolutely a part of the business, and his style of leaving it to the last minute will make any partner of his WANT TO MURDER HIM.

Lucian will make it in one way or another. Biddell needs to be spurred onwards. He's a fantastic talent, completely amazing technician and good designer, and he needs the money and exposure to make the most of that.
