Ha-ha! I totally spilled liquid Nitrogen on my pants. It's been that sort of day.

Aiiiiiiiiiiyyeeaaaa! That must be some horrible freezer burn! My sympathies.

Nah, all is well. My pants were pretty cold, but otherwise the human body is SO MUCH warmer than liquid N2 that it boiled away before it really got to the skin. If I'd been playing with the hose on the pressurized tank, I'd be in trouble.

Awesome. You've now decreased the elasticity of the fabric fibers. Maybe next you'll tear them.

Hey! That's not nice. Especially since I shoved my hands into my pockets before that happened and I heard a tearing noise. Stupid thrift-store pants.

Um, will the elasticity magically come back?

Nope. Elasticity is like toothpaste: once it's out of the tube, you never get it back again. Just ask any woman over fifty.

So what you're saying then is that [livejournal.com profile] trinityvixen might be sporting breakaway jeans now?

Hmmmmm..... breakaway jeans. I'm sure there is a market for a product like that somewhere.

...You know that breakaway pants exist, right? They were a big fad around '97, if I'm remembering correctly.

I was gonna say...is that sarcasm or what? I even owen a pair of zipper-off pants. They were pretty cool because they turned into just-past-knee length shorts that then went just over the tip of my really awesome knee-high boots.

At least they didn't crack off? :)

Good point, though [livejournal.com profile] ivy03 is making noise that they might at a later point. Hrmmm...

Oh, I hate those days... liquid nitrogen on your pants, then you spill jet fuel on your new blazer....

What are you, a superhero?

Sheesh.

Actually, I work in a mad scientist's lab. I say that with 100% accuracy, too, as my boss is both a scientist and certifiable. Hurrah!
