I know I just mentioned the Diary of the Dead, but here's a more pressing film outing opportunity!

U2 3-D

It's 3-D, man! Anyone willing to drop $16 on this with me? It sounds fantastic--in the artsy and ZOMG I SHAMELESSLY LOVE U2 ways both. I saw them on the Vertigo tour, and they were awesome, so I can't think but they'll be anything less in this movie.

And did I mention it was in 3-D!?

What about Hannah Montana 3-D?

Is Hannah Montana gonna play "With or Without You" in 3-D? No? Then I don't care.

Be careful what you wish for....

If my assumption is correct and this "Hannah Montana" persona is really a guise for another up-and-tweener kid star like Haley whatever her name is who played Lizzie Maguire, the chances are damned good she can't sing well enough to even do U2, which, I love them, but come on is not that hard to sing.

Not to say she wouldn't try if her handlers jerked her leash, but only to say they're probably better off sticking to tunes that their ADD-riddled tween audience can recognize from the three seconds they air on "music television" these days. So better that she sample a sampled rap song. That's just good capitalist sense.

Hey, should do Bono's soprano songs like "Lemon."

A friend of mine saw it already (press screening) and said it was great.

Really? Awesome! I'm actually really interested in this, so good reviews are even more encouraging.

Cool. I hope it's not too artsy for me. I'm an ignorant cuss about some of the technological aspects of film, but I'll be there for the soundtrack and 3-D.

Can I be shameless with you?

GUILTY PLEASURE INDULGENCE TIME. Nobody understands us the way Bono does. Well, Bono of 15 years ago, anyway.

Are you free either this or next weekend? I am thinking it would be great.

How's about tomorrow or next weekend then? YOu and [livejournal.com profile] earthrise are the only ones who seem interested, but I'm sure we can be obnoxiously girly enough for thirty.

Hmmm, maybe. On the positive side, I've been buying U2 albums since War when you were... um, a dirty thought in your father's eye. I've also never experienced the whole IMAX thang, and would like to. On the negative side, I'll never recover the time I spent watching Rattle and Hum, and concert movies tend to suck. Also this seems to be turning into a girls-night-out-thing. Keep us all posted?

Will do, but honestly this isn't just a concert. Read the Times' review, they call it an artistic experience as much as anything.

And did I mention it was in 3-D!? The novelty alone is worth the price of admission (once at least).
