Way to spend all of my easily-won love, Iron Man.

What was wrong with the teaser posters!?! They were understated perfection. This...this looks like the posters for every other derivative blockbuster out there. BALLS TO THAT, I SAY

*sigh*

I'm sure the actors had something in their contracts requiring they be included on the posters.

I suppose that's a good a reason as any for a bad decision.

NO! Total disagreement!

These are the kinds of posters Drew Struzan would have painted in the 1980s. These posters are AWESOME.

They're derivative. The teaser poster was ominous and awesome and just coolness in 2D. This is like some hack rendition of the characters from the movie in Star Wars prequel poses (complete with the slightly scandalously clad female!).

Say what you want but the fact that they look like any of the Star Wars posters, prequels or not -- exactly what I meant when I was referring to Struzan -- is exactly what I love about them. To me, it's just fucking great.

The Star Wars derivative poster has its charm, especially because the production quality of it is unbelievably clean (though the international one really, really blows). I'm impressed just as a matter of form.

I'd have the same to say about the second poster - the color and shading are drop-dead gorgeous and it's the kind of design you could use on any scale from postcards to giant outdoor banners without losing effect. It's a better version of the slop-job done with the transformers posters last year.
