After all the waiting, it's finally here! Hurrah, we see Iron Man on Friday!

I'm thinking of theaters--two, actually. One is the Loews on 84th and B'way. Not usually as popular a place with people (so probably less craziness than trying to see something at Lincoln Square like last year), but it's a good theater, and there's stuff around there if people want to pick up candy or do dinner.

The other option is the always popular 34th between 8th and 9th aves. The main attraction of this theater was that it was, inexplicably, cheaper than all the other Loews in the city. A quick search of Fandango shows me that this seems to no longer be the case. Oh well, it's a perfectly fine theater as well.

I think the real choice is movie time. 84th: 7:45. 34th: 7:00 or 10:00. I'm thinking 7:45 works best, but you should all vote now or forever hold your peace.

Remember that this is for THIS FRIDAY, May 2nd.

I prefer the 34th theater, of course, for all it's sucky features, because it is close to the PATH. We got stranded by non-running subways at 66th last year, so anything that reduces the number of subway lines I have to take is good by me. And earlier is definitely better. I don't think I'd go to a show that was 10 or later.

Welcome back!!!

I'm happy with any of these times, BTW.

I support 10:00 so we can do dinner beforehand, but 7:45 is also suitable if we want to eat afterward (and deconstruct the masterpiece). I probably won't be out of work until 6:30 or so.

I also prefer the 34th Street theater, but either will do. Tickets are actually already for sale online, so I suspect we should decide soon.

I can probably pick up some tickets at the box office to save the service charge, say, tomorrow.

Let me know if there are fooding plans. I'll probably skip the movie, though.

I'll be there no matter what time it is. I may be sleep deprived (lousy morning exams...grumble...)

I also sort of support 10 over 7:45 since Ben does not even get home until 6, and we tend to take the train in if we're seeing a movie in midtown. 7:45 isn't as bad as 7, which would be nearly un-doable, but we do tend to have to rush.

ETA: I see you wrote 84th instead of 34th - if that's not a typo then 7:45 is less problematic since we tend to be able to find parking up there.

Yeah, I ended up casting a vote for 7:45 just because uptown is easier for us to get to. Getting to 84th Street by 7:45 shouldn't be a problem. The 34th Street at 10:00 is fine, too - I probably should've selected both. As m'lady says, getting to 34th by 7:00 would be nigh impossible for us.

Oh, hey, it let me re-vote and select both. Nice!

The eighty-fourth street theater (to avoid confusion) has the later showtimes, so that's where the 7:45 would be.

I'm thinking that's what it has to be. The folk off the PATH would have an easier time of getting to thirty-fourth street, but it would be a hard thing for a bunch of us to get there anywhere early enough to get on line for good seats. 7:45 at 84th, a less populated theater, would be a better bet for most. (And it's earlier than a 10 pm one which would screw over the multiple train takers anyway.)

General preference is the 34th street theater (since I work around the corner from it anyway).
