::DIES OF OLDNESS::

My babiest of baby sisters graduated high school yesterday.

I expect to repeat this horror when my second babiest sister graduates college NEXT YEAR.

My baby sister is in grad school. I feel your angst.

DO NOT WANT

How fucking pathetic do I feel that the other sister graduates next year and is poised to go right into physical therapy school while I've been out of college for four years and still have no clue (much less have legwork done for) what career I want to have?

We're in the same boat, if it makes you feel any better. I feel like a miserable failure for abandoning a possible career path that made me miserable without coming up with a better plan, and coasting along for the better part of a year and a half. (I'm hoping to take advantage of this re-org to at least become less insanely bored.)

Also, my sister was home taking care of my mother for three weeks, including while I was on vacation, and now that she's at CTY, she's apparently still calling twice a day. I am the laaaaame sibling.

Sigh. I need direction. Someone needs to tell me what career to take and I'll do it at this point. Except I won't. Because in addition to having no direction, I have no interest in getting one.

Okay: Become an FBI agent specializing in serial killers. Work until you hunt down one with beautiful, bushy eyebrows, then cut him a deal in which he avoids prison in exchange for sexual favors. Eventually, write a tell-all novel that becomes a made-for-Cinemax movie.

Except I won't.

D'oh!

Hon, I've been out of grad school for five years and I don't know what career I want either!

At least it's not the sex talk. More than one friend of mine has been done in with the sex talk with younger sibs.

Oh, she and her boyfriend are in trouble for the hickeys--plural--they've given each other. They're so embarrassed by the to-do over that that they've been behaving.

Oh, your little TINY BAAAAAAABY SISTER is all grown-ed up! Remember when she was shorter than me? Oh, oh, and when she learned to drive? She's almost as old as we were when we met! Soon she'll be legal and can take you drinking!

TIIIIIINY BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABY SISTER....

:D

DIE IN A FIRE.

You're going to repeat the horror of dying of oldness?

[identity profile] trinityvixen.livejournal.com 2008-06-27 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I'd say more or be sarcastic, but just...yeah.

I think the weirdest one for me was attending my little sister's wedding...and her second wedding. Of course, she will be 30 next year, and that will certainly seem odd, because in my mind's eye, she's somewhere between three and nine. I actually call mt daughter by my sister's name sometimes. LOL.

My sisters will get married before me because they're looking for it more than I ever will (let alone currently am). I think I can get over that. Not being married is like less stressful to me than not knowing what to do with my life. Because not being married is a valid lifestyle choice, but not knowing what to do with yourself is just depressing.

It wasn't as much the actual marriage thing - I agree that not getting married is a valid lifestyle choice. It is the fact that, if she was getting married, there was no way that I could really deny that she had had sex. LOL.
