Jun. 27th, 2008 11:18 amI need to get off of Buy.com's mailing list. Last night, I checked my DAILY update of their sales and almost bought a MyVu player. I stopped myself at the last minute when I saw something troubling about this player being specifically for a certain generation of iPods. As my iPod is currently about thirteen generations behind anything, I'm sure it wouldn't work with. Besides which, my iPod isn't even a video player, so wtf are you doing, STOP BUYING SHIT!
Ahem. This same process did not stop me while I was at home for THE BABY SISTER'S GRADUATION (OMFG I AM NEVER GETTING OVER THIS) from going to Linens and Things (which is going out of business and had shit on sale) and purchasing a new DVD stand (to replace the leaning tower), a table-top wine cork remover (shut up, those things are awesome), and one of those hot/cold eye packs (it was only $1!!!). Oh, and then THE BABY SISTER WHO WAS BUYING STUFF FOR COLLEGE took me to Bed Bath & Beyond, where I purchased a hook for my towels (the over-the-door hooks are preventing the door from closing properly and I'm only just--two years later--getting around to fixing that), a rod to replace the sagging one in the bathroom, and four flexible cutting boards (with color and picture coding of a cow, chicken, fish, and vegetable so you know which one to use for what!). Spent $6 on the things I needed, all told, but like ten times as much on the stuff that I went, "I could use that, therefore I have an excuse to buy it. HURRAH!"
I'm alarmed at how frequently this LJ tag gets used.
