#172 FTW!

Goddamn, that's even one of my favorite pictures of that fabulous bitch, too. No fooling, I LOVE THE DARK PHOENIX. Some day, when I lose half my current body weight, I'm doing a Dark Phoenix costume for Halloween. If I ever get down to a reasonable size ever (note: hasn't happened yet in my life time), I'm totally going whole hog and paying to get that shit made custom. True story: were it not for my serious lesbian crush on the Dark Phoenix, [livejournal.com profile] feiran and I might never have been friends. Eight years later, that's still hard to imagine.

#103 understands me! Grrrrrowl.

Somewhere... possibly in my picture gallery I have a picture of a truly stunning Dark Phoenix from NYC Comic Con 07.

Oh man, before the internet, I only had the cartoon show, and that was enough. I still hear the Dark Phoenix talk entirely in the voice actress' tones from that show. Good thing they were kick-ass.

Here she is!

I watched the old animated show too. The voices kind of make me cringe now, going back to watch it on youtube. I did love X-Men Evolution too. Dead before it's time. :(

Fabulous costume! When (sigh, if) I ever do that costume, I swear I'm going over the top. Wig out to THERE, full-eye yellow contact lenses, god, you're going to have to hold me back from tattooing my eye like Phoenix had for a while when she swapped powers with Psylocke.

Look, there's no denying I found Emo Summers hot. I just would rather F the Phoenix force posing as his wife. Evilly.

Well, how could you not love Dark Phoenix? Seriously. [Of course, now I'm going to have to convince jendaby to go as her at least once, somewhere.]

I don't know how anyone thinks anyone else is more interesting. I really, really don't. I mean, from what I've glimpsed/heard about of recent comic history, they're trying to pretty much rape the Phoenix Force into the ground, which is bad. But as she first appeared? FUCK YEAH.

And if you get [livejournal.com profile] jendaby in costume, there will be pictures. There WILL be.

Please don't wait at all! I think the Phoenix costume is the sexiest superhero costume in the universe.

Yeah, no skin-tight bodysuits from me until more of the chunk is gone. I'm not being that guy from like cons and stuff whose love of character outweighs common sense. Plus, with more weight off, I'd be less crazed about wearing something tight across my, well, everywhere, but especially my stomach. (I never wear tight clothes on my torso if it can be at all avoided. It just weirds me out.)

Really? You wear tight T-shirts all the time and look fantastic. That guy at the con is 80 pounds overweight, not 10.

T-shirts aren't as tight as spandex. As a proud former owner of spandex pants that I unabashedly loved, I can attest first-hand to this fact.

And generally I don't wear tighter shirts. I have a few, but mostly I get the looser cotton ones so I don't spend the entire time sucking in my stomach.

Believe me, back when I was a deluded middle schooler, I was in love with those pants. Chance are good they're stuff in a drawer somewhere if mom didn't toss em in a donation bin.

I will still go as Phoenix when you go as Dark Phoenix. :)

Dude, at the way you're going, you could do it THIS Halloween. Not to mention it is entirely unfair you're the right size and still have the boobage for that costume. Not fair!

But yes, we are doing this thang. I'm probably never getting married, so I'm saving my "diet like a madwoman and spend money on clothes I only wear once" thing for this.
