I don't know why, but I didn't hate Maxima on Smallville. She was cute enough and she managed not to be entirely repulsive even though she was throwing herself at guys left and right. I didn't hate it.

I suspect that as long as Heroes is determined to break my brain each week, I could probably take just about anything from Smallville. Perhaps this is a good time to watch the entire fourth season, since chances are I never will be able to survive it at any other time.

You may not need to watch the fourth season--it nearly broke me (even though I own the DVDs). But at least watch the first episode with the Flash.

The Maxima episode was pretty good, and Lois and Clark are having some cute moments together to rival his with Chloe. I'm turning against Jimmy though. And as goofy as the plot was, it felt true to the comics so it worked for me.

Perhaps that's it--it was silly, but no worse than what came before it. Jimmy is really turning into an asshole. I don't know why Chloe is interested in him.

I will watch the episode with the Flash, I promise. Fourth season or no, it would still be better than anything Heroes has put out lately.

True, and Season 4 also has your boyfriend, Jensen Ackles!

Eww, no. I think he's cute-ish on Supernatural, but Jason Teague always creeped me out. Perhaps it was the whole twenty-five-year-old-teacher-dating-a-student thing. I never found out how evil he was so that couldn't be it. Anyone liking Lana needs their head examined.

Word. Season 4 is what kept me from watching SPN when it started. It took me that long to get over associating Jensen Ackles with creepiness.

My only experience with Smallville is the fourth season, actually. Good lord, the things I do for love.

Congratulations, you're insane. You need to graduate from the impulse to watch everything a person you like was ever in. It only ends up hurting you. Two words: Little Buddha.

Oh, believe me, after flirtations with the early careers of Adrien Brody, Ewan McGregor, Colin Firth and Josh Hartnett, I really, really know.

Hey, Josh Hartnett's early career bugged me less than his later stuff. I liked I Know What You Did Last Summer better than, say, 40 Days and 40 Nights or Pearl Harbor. Though, I have to give it up for Lucky Number Slevin. That one was surprisingly awesome.

She was super-cute. I possibly even liked this episode.

I know, right? I don't think I was in love with the episode, but I was surprisingly okay with it. More in the plus side than the negative! AMAZING.

Also, you know who the mysterious "X" is? I have not been reading spoilers! Tell!

Oh, yes, I am just that awesome.

LOL, no, not at all. I have no idea, I just assumed it was Lex. Then about five minutes after I submitted my review, I found out Michael Rosenbaum probably won't be back this season. Oops.

Well, I sound really smart and like I'm hip and in the know, and that's all that matters, right? You thought I knew who it was! I'm just going to keep bluffing and then when it ends up being, like, Mr. Mxzypltk or whatever, I'll be like "HAH! I KNEW IT!"

(Except it won't be him because they already blew their chance on that character.)

I assumed they'd resurrect Brainiac yet again since James Marsters will whore himself out to any tv show that will have him, apparently.

I assume they'll get Rosenbaum back IF it ends up being the last season.

I just assumed Lex because, you know, his name has an X in it.

But...you somehow liked last week's episode, too!

Yeah, this season has been surprisingly non-sucky. I don't hold out much hope for the rest of the season continuing in that vein, though. They tend to start decently and end full of failcakes.

But last week? Dude, I like shirtless Oliver as much as anyone, but REALLY?

Wasn't last week the Oliver flashback ep? I liked it! All they've got to do to keep me happy is heavily feature characters that I actually find interesting.

You didn't like last week's? Seriously?

It was agonizingly stupid. And that's me saying that after sitting through the VP debate.

... you thought last week's was stupider than alien sex queen????

Date: 2008-10-10 05:32 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] trinityvixen.livejournal.com
Yes, because that's who Maxima is! Oliver's backstory was told in an abusively stupid manner to justify the new girl being on the show.

I guess I take the broader view of "stupid" being "just what the show is" by now, so if an ep has one or two elements that hold my interest, it's comparatively good.

Lol, we are too forgiving with this show. Then again, we watched all of Torchwood...

At the moment I feel like there are very few shows that I actually expect to be good from week to week. I settle for moderately entertaining.

Though I have to say, SPN has impressed me this season, for a show that started off in the stupid-but-amusing category.

Well, I just got to the second-to-last episode of season three, and I still don't like Bela. I'm glad she's going to hell. Still, I kinda thought about how awesome it would be to trap her and Dean in a room in hell forever, like No Exit. It doesn't excuse her from being a bitch, but I enjoyed that development.

I dare say Torchwood is better than Heroes!

Currently? Yes. But at their respective bests, Heroes > Torchwood.
