Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] moonlightalice for linking me to this: Go ahead, CT queers, get married!

I really needed good news. Yesterday, I was a bubble of happiness for the entire day. This morning, I feel like I'm in a dungeon of bad news. Ayah. It's not the weather--it's lovely outside, really. I just feel in a funk. I need to snap out of it.

Woo! That's pretty amazing, isn't connecticut pretty conservative?

Also, more good news: Australia has just decriminalised abortion.

Connecticut's a pretty mixed bag. In Greenwich it has one of the richest cities in the US, but also two of the poorest (New Haven and... another one I can't remember). Between fiscal conservatism among the rich and social conservatism among the poor, it can be pretty reactionary sometimes. But it *is* part of the Northeast, which is generally more socially liberal than the South or the West (other than California/Washington).

Like most of the US, it's becoming more progressive, but probably at a faster rate.
