I nearly went mad last night with glee. No, not because Heroes has gotten better. (My review, if you are interested.) But because it won't be on again FOR TWO WEEKS. That means I won't be a basket case next Monday trying to tamp down the crazy election-fever AND review this show.

VACATION!

Y'know, I've been holding out hope that it would get better, but the idiocy last night really got to me. I'm about at the breaking point here.

I like Greg Grunberg, but the fact that they've made Matt a useless, now stalker-y lump is not helping. Also, just kill Mohinder off already. He's been completely re-written, worse than even Sylar, and there's no point to him continuing to suffer.

Yeah, in many ways Mohinder has become the Big Bad himself, since he's willing to do pretty much anything to anyone in the Name of Science.

Except he won't man up and go fully mad scientist on us! It's so disheartening to have to deal with another wet-blanket emo-kid when he could be cackling madly and having Igor pass him some brains.

"Scaple?" "Scaple." "Sponge?" "Sponge." "Clamps?" "Clamps." "Brains?" "BRAAAAAINS!"

What was really frustrating was the whole "I lost my powers!" "You lost your powers?" "Yes! Waaah!" "Here, let me inject you with this and see if it gives you back your powers!" "No, get away from me!" bit.

Argh!

Who's on first? Yes.

That means I won't be a basket case next Monday I highly doubt that :)

Incidently, do you have any idea how the Brain Lizard got to the Bennet household?

"What? Theres a company that we've never heard of, that a big villain was carrying the business card for, that does something involving powers? SCORE!! Maybe they can help me out!!
And ya know what? Lets take an unstable electrical generator capable of arcing through armchair upholstery onto a plane, and then antagonise her!! BOOYA!!!"
Or maybe Claire really does have a death wish and wants to take lots of people with her.

I almost died over the plane thing. Elle was shorting out a house--a structure that is literally grounded--and she's somehow able to keep it together long enough not to send a plane crashing down?

Heroes has finally pierced that lowest common denominator of science whereby everyone, not just majors, can be utterly astonished at how impossible everything they say and do is. I mean, what's next? Gravity ceases to exist? Oh, wait, too late, Peter survived that fall out the window!!

Yeah, I'm not sorry to hear it, honestly. It's time. This is a different show than the Classic Who; you could have Tom Baker be on for seven years when you just had half-hour six-parters every so often. Thirteen (plus a special) one-hour episodes a year is a brutal schedule to keep. I think this production is burning people out really fast. I mean, it makes sense--no one wants to be typecast--but it sounds like everyone who finishes the series is exhausted by it.

And I've never been a huge Tennant-Doctor fan, so I am more than ready to move on. I am a wee bit sad to lose another Doctor, though, just on principle.

I'm glad to see him go too. It is definitely time to have a less manic doctor :-P Now that Russell's out, that might happen (he LURVED Tennant :-P) Now that I think about it, he reminds me of the Futurama robot version of Hawkeye from MASH. Flip a switch and he's sarcastically funny, flip it again, and he's all sad and broody. Hahahahaha.

That's Tennant in a nutshell--"I'm tortured!" wait "I'm happy!" wait "What?"

It's everywhere. Doctor Who finally has an American audience; therefore, it has "arrived;" therefore, it is news.
