Well, I know [livejournal.com profile] viridian is in, and I know I'm in, but I just want to write and encourage people to come to SAW in costume!!!

And, when oh when, you say, is the film? How's this: Loew's Orpheum, 86th and 3rd, 12:30 am Sunday morning (or just reeeeeally late Saturday night). If it MUST be earlier, there's a 10:05 showing, but I like the Halloween morning idea.

So, sound off! Who's in?

Also, Sunday, I'm thinking we need to watch horror movies all day long. I've already got Thirteen Ghosts, House on Haunted Hill, and Freddy vs Jason, but I'm going to go try and rent the new Dawn of the Dead, and, if you like kicking it up old skool, I've got Night of the Living Dead and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1932) (trust me, that last one is a dooooosy). Suggestions, donations for a mini fright fest? If anyone can get their hands on other classics, please do, but new or old, let's just, as Captain Tenneal from MXC would say, GET IT ON! Hee!

Also, any nicely scary ones? Lisa, my roomie who's not Carrie, is not horror-happy, so things that are mildly boogie-boogie would be appreciated (I think she could handle something like The Sixth Sense, if you want to have something for comparison). We've all been enjoying the Simpsons Treehouses of Horror this week, so funny horror is good (we all loved Shaun of the Dead, right?) Interest? Help!?

If you don't mind a quick trip to queens you could rummage through my DVD sections for something (I should have a dozen of something that would fit the bill).

Aieee! I wish! I'm running around like mad woman this weekend!

Saturday is SAW, before that, getting ready for SAW, and tonight is my other bookclub, Sunday's Halloween! I may just have to max out Blockbuster...ooh, I better get there today for Dawn of the Dead!

I bought the directors cut on Tue. I didn't really notice a difference. I will say that two of the extras were really cool though. One was the video journal of the guy in the gun store (which kept pretty close to the timeline of the movie), and lets you know a lot more about him. The other is a news report about the spread of the walking dead through the US.

What I worry about is the effect on the film. The movie was, as I keep raving, SOOOO well timed, and any additions might throw off the flow (like additions to LOTR:FOTR mostly do, or any other really tightly paced film). Well, I will rent it and see. I've got the film pretty memorized at this point!
