I never thought I'd make it through any interview with Bill O'Reilly. Then I watched The Daily Show:

Jon Stewart just served his blowhard ass to him on a plate. I love that he cuts right through the bullshit (which is basically the only thing O'Reilly has to offer) and still remains friendly. Perhaps his most significant achievement? By merely being in the room with him, Jon Stewart makes Bill O'Reilly not screechingly intolerable from the second he walks on the set. Amazing.

And Stephen Colbert is adorable. You heard me.

He's such a moron, and so hilariously wrong all the time, and the interview really showed that up.

From claiming the village and LES aren't diverse, to the Panda mistake (including, in true moron fashion, the insistence, over and over again, that it's a panda) he really demonstrates his small-mindedness.

I saw that interview. I think the iconic moment was Bill O'Reilly not able to admit that it is a teddy bear, not a panda.

"Greenwich Village is homogeneous."

That sound would the jaw of every viewer hitting the floor as we goggle at that statement from someone who claims as his base middle america.

I first saw clips of this interview on Friday's Countdown. I was sure that Keith Olbermann was just being mean at Bill O'Reilly, but that was ridiculous. I guess when you make a career out of never admitting you're wrong, you can't go back even when it's a) trivial, and b) obvious that you're wrong.

I know, but he was able to make it seem plausible for the fact that the entire New York audience (who know better) hissed at him.

The jaw-dropping moment for me was his insistence that Jon Stewart would be murdered if he left the northeast. That's not ominous or anything. It reflects really poorly on the "real America" he thinks he speaks for, so he's insulting them. He's also telling (as Jon Stewart kept pointing out) the little Jewish guy that he's not welcome in the rest of the country. (There's also the fact that no one mauled Bill O'Reilly for coming into territory where he wasn't welcome...)

Bill O'Reilly is one of the ugliest personalities up there. His whole insistence on the panda vs. teddy bear is just an example :-P And, on a completely different note, though I'm sure you've already seen it....

Sure have! I still hold out hope that this won't entirely suck. The question is whether the director, who seems to get what the source material is about, will prevail over the studio heads, who don't.
