So, naturally, we have pictures.

After the holiday, I'm going to have to insist that people come and visit him muchly. Having people around helped socialize our cats. And they could use some other disturbances to distract them from hissing and growling at the kitten.

You should see him when he sticks his tongue out! He just--sticks it out sometimes and lets it sit there. It looks Photoshopped. :)

This one is fearless, so FEAR HIM. He weighs literally about a tenth of one of our cats and isn't even a quarter of their size. Yet he was hissing back at them when Oscar was being a butthole.

He's pretty adorable. And tiny! Only about ten weeks old! Our cats are like lumbering rhinos in comparison.

Too cute! He actually looks a lot like ours, or rather like ours did at that age.

I've never had an orange/tan-and-white cat before. We always had black or black and white kitties. (Wally counts since he's gray, which is just black and white mixed together.) He's super long. I'm not sure, but judging on paw size, he might stay tiny. I doubt he'll stay thin living at our place though!

After less than twelve hours with the new cat, I have two scratches and four puncture wounds...

I share your pain. I barely touched the kitten this morning, and I've got no less than four scratches on the one hand. More will probably show up.

I forgot about this part when raising a kitten. He doesn't know his own dangerousness yet.

I'd offer you this one, only you can't have one, as you've explained to me a hundred times, a, and my sister would kill me for giving away her cat, b.

I think I missed the explanation of why you guys acquired another cat.

Long version: my sister's guy friend got her a kitten for her birthday, not realizing that she couldn't have pets at her apartment or that having a pet while still in school is a taaaaad problematic. Until she graduates and moves to a different place, we're baby kitty-sitting.

Short version: boys are stupid.

...wow. That's impressively dumb.

It was a very sweet idea, and she had been making noise about maybe wanting a kitty, but only in the "Oh, I wish I could get one" sort of way. Unless you're a parent getting a pet for your kid, you don't buy other people pets. One, it's not really a gift for them, what with the expense and all. And two, it's really more fun for that person to go pick out their own pet than to just have one given.

Granted, this kitten is very cute and all, but still. Boneheaded move, start to finish.
