Stop sucking, Spring!

I'm spoiled by every sunny day at this point. I've been able to go without a jacket in the past week. As a result, it is a punishment to have to put one on. And I haven't taken out the winter coat since I put it away in a fit of warmer weather. My wardrobe in general has followed this trend--bucking what the weather demands in favor of the lighter clothes that I would rather wear.

And I wonder why I always feel one stiff breeze short of a shiver? That's been my life for the past few weeks, save those amenable blips where fleece-or-above sorts of jackets were not de rigeur. I just have not felt warm, warm-and-cuddly-under-blankets warm for a while. So I complain on the internet. Because I can!

I think one of the main reasons I get so excited about flowers in the Spring is because that is damn near about the only thing I like about the Spring. I hate the flip-floppy wet weather, the mud, the lingering winter chill, the teasing of warmth, the need to layer so much, etc.

Of course, when it is the reverse and everything is cooling down in Fall, I LOVE it. But Fall just seems...less muddy, less pollinated (the bad thing about the pretty flowers), less awkward.

I suspect we'll get one of those springs where it'll be dank and foggy, then one day "BOING!!!" it's 70+ and staying that way. It's just the planet's way of scolding us. (or maybe you?)

But I was good and railed against the weather misbehaving in winter! All I want now is an orderly progression through to summer! Why am I being punished!?

I'm also pining for warmer days, but is this really that much worse than normal? I've got grass seed down in the front yard and have driven with the top down at least a few times, and it's not even April yet.

As was noted, we often don't even HAVE spring here. It just sort of snaps from frigid to sweltering in a span of a couple of weeks. Bloody weather....

It's not been good enough that I can go about unfettered from jackets entirely, and I'm still too cold to wear sandals, which is just about killing me. So, yeah, whine whine whine whine.
