Breaking Radio Silence!
May. 6th, 2009 05:02 pmAside from May Movie talk and info-dumps (and one screaming declaration of my own awesomeness), I've been rather quiet on LJ lately. My apologies. Here, have some news that I've been collecting in the interim:
There will be a Deadpool movie!
Thanks to
mithras03 for the heads-up on that. I'm glad to see that even the comic writers behind the character admit that God invented Ryan Reynolds to play Deadpool. It's true, you know.
(FYI: We're all seeing this movie. I don't care how and who I have to bribe.)
Dear Christ, Mormonsreally suck have really sucky practices.
I'm still going to get in trouble for that regardless of my attempt to correct that, but yeah, the fact remains that they need not to do anything that they are doing. When, do you suppose, will they have their major decline like the rest of the Christian sects are facing? Because until I see any evidence that they, too, will wane (and not, in fact, take over the world), I'm going to remain very hostile about their practices. Which I honestly don't want to do. If they would kindly KNOCK THAT SHIT OFF, since they're not supposed to be doing it anyway (no baptisms for non family members!), I'd happily go back to ignoring them.
Also, I must point out that you don't kick ghouls, you behead them. Just, you know, FYI.
And, in case you hadn't already heard, the northeast kinda has a lock on being awesome right about now. Come on New Hampshire! Get your governnor to do the right thing!

Date: 2009-05-07 03:05 pm (UTC)Deaaaadpooool~~~ I am too excited. He was my favorite. I want to read some comics of his, but delving into Marvel Superhero storylines scares the fucking shit out of me. There's just so much! Where the hell am I supposed to start? Gah.

Date: 2009-05-07 04:01 pm (UTC)Honestly, it's not a bad way to get info on the character and determine where you want to go from there. After that, browse your local comic shop?

Date: 2009-05-07 04:59 pm (UTC)Haha, I shall do that! I got so preoccupied thinking of what comics to buy I totally blanked on Wikipedia.

Date: 2009-05-08 11:47 am (UTC)But the backlash starts when good people stop being silent and accepting about their creepy practices. They've ALREADY got this whole rhetoric of the oppressed-victim going on... might as well make it true...

Date: 2009-05-08 04:20 pm (UTC)Mostly, though, it's the organizational power of the church that scares me - they're compiling huge amounts of information and doing so many things in secret. And their beliefs are weird, though, to be fair - to me ALL the religions seem really weird. I'm not truly in a place to judge that part of it.

Date: 2009-05-08 04:55 pm (UTC)And because any refutation of the Mormon Church seems like anti-religious bias, and because freedom of religion is a sacred right in the USA, there's not a whole lot you can do about stopping them so long as there's nothing illegal done. And why would they do anything illegal when they have power enough to get it done "democratically"?
