trinityvixen: (bullshit right?)

When am I ever going to learn? Stunt casting =/= making the show better, no matter how much I like the actors.

But...but...it's T-Bag, and he'd be awesomely creepy. Maybe he could fix Heroes?

::wibbles::

And and and! Ray Park! SERIOUSLY.

No, no, no. You have to control yourself. There is no way this will ever be okay. They brought Daddy Luthor out of retirement and while he was awesome, they got rid of him and the story he was in was stupid, and STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT.

I hate this show some times. Only Heroes could make me MAD about Robert Knepper and Ray Park getting more work.

It sure is. It's perfect--the expression, the words, everything!

At this point, I have to just admit to myself that nothing they put in this show will ever make me like it again. They could put every single person I have ever liked doing anything into an episode and have them all make out and I would still change the channel. (After, you know, watching to make sure I don't like it.)

Ray Park on Heroes? What?

I stuck to my guns and didn't watch a single episode of Heroes after having my intelligence so thoroughly insulted by season two.

But Ray Park...

It would seem he is. (http://io9.com/5279252/heroes-new-cult-leader-into-teabagging-fires)

We must be strong! We must resist! Surely, the best clips of anything Ray Park ends up doing will be on the YouTube soon enough!

Wow, thanks for the link. It sounds...kinda bad. Sylar is gone?

Um, no? I mean, they said not, but it's hard to tell what they really intend to do. The way the ended the fourth volume was such that, if they had to, they could work around not getting Quinto back. It seems rather transparent that they were working around his possibly being unavailable following Star Trek.

But the damnedest thing is that a) Sylar is not gone (really really not) and b) the powers that be claim that they want to keep Quinto on the show. So who knows?

(I can spoil you for the ending if this seems to make no sense. But I didn't want to presume.)

It's a little complicated. Basically, at some point Sylar got two powers: shape-shifting and the ability to retain memories from objects (i.e. every time someone touched something, he'd absorb a bit of their life from the object in question--not quite sure how it works, but it does). So, yeah, now that he's a shape-shifter, anyone can play Sylar (and a few of the cast already have).

Then Sylar killed Nathan. This was a problem for reasons too stupid to go into, and it became imperative that they have Nathan back. So Matt Parkman brainwashed Sylar into thinking he was Nathan. With his ability to absorb memories (and given that Sylar already had done so and played at being Nathan), Sylar became Nathan so well that he, to date, doesn't know he's Sylar. (Only Mr. Bennet, Mrs. Petrelli, and Matt Parkman know, in fact.)

So, there you have it: they have not gotten rid of Sylar, but Adrian Pasdar is currently playing Sylar thinking he is Nathan. It's an open question as to whether or not they'll get rid of either Pasdar or Zachary Quinto, but it looks suspiciously like an out for Quinto if he wants one. There are two complications. The first is that Sylar-Nathan was shown, in a preview for next season, having a bit of a Sylar-esque fugue about a clock beating off time (ndicating that Sylar hasn't been completely destroyed). The second is, as I said, TPTB have said they still plan to use Quinto in the show next season. There are easy ways around those points--Adrian Pasdar might just stay as a slowly-waking Sylar for an entire season; they might just have said Quinto was coming back so as not to spoil the finale. Right now, no one knows. Until they start shooting the next season, I doubt we'll have any definitive answer.
