Last night, I dreamt that you could teleport your friends if you downloaded their gamertags to your 360. This was fairly amazing except that you had to have someone at the given station to teleport people to it, which meant that you could get stuck on the other side if no one was at your place to teleport you back. So there was a lot of traveling and then people going, "Oh, wait, now I'm stuck here." Good times.

... because teleporting capabilities make one entirely incapable of using the subway to get back home!

Well, the places they ended up weren't usually so accessible by transit. We're talking middle-of-nowhere places and foreign countries.

Is downloading gamertags actually faster since the latest update? I heard it was supposed to be, but I haven't tried it yet.

LOADING ARCADE GAMES SURE ISN'T ANY FASTER.

I haven't tried to do either, so I have no idea whether that is true or not. But I'm betting it's not. It is Microsoft, after all.

Downloading demos is ridiculously slow.

I wonder if that isn't our network connection or what. Everything seems so slow...

I haven't tried on my new (now with more comcast!) internet yet, but back in NJ I could grab most multi-gig demos in about 5 minutes.

I would not trust Microsoft to teleport me. Then again, maybe they're the reason there are so many transporter malfunctions on Star Trek, not to mention in the holodecks (which are based on the same technology). "Ach, Captain! It's the red ring of death. I canna do anything about it!"

Yeah, something tells me no one wants to be red-ringed on a teleport. It could be messy:

I didn't know it had started. In fact, I'm positive that it doesn't start here for two and a half more weeks yet.

I am, how you say, less than thrilled that other people are getting it ahead of us. Ahem ::absconds to internet::

Doesn't this one usually involve a raft, a river, and like a wolf on one side or something?

No, but only because they don't have XBOXes.
