I'm cautiously optimistic on this one, here. Tron turned out to be rather cool. I can't believe I went twenty-plus years as a geek having never seen it until last year, but I liked it. It was definitely something that had aged, but that the spirit of it was still amazing. It's one of those movies where you can see somebody reaching for something beyond what was available at the time, and those movies are the ones that deserve respect, whether they individually succeed or fail. Tron succeeded, to my mind, which is why I was a little hesitant about a sequel, but they seem to be doing something okay there. Plus, Bruce Boxleitner's voice...oh, Tron. I hearted you the mostest.

Date: 2010-03-09 05:54 pm (UTC)I saw the original in the theatre when it first came out. This one sounds like it's playing true to the story and the theme. Plus, IMAX3D? Well FUCK-YAH!

Date: 2010-03-09 06:35 pm (UTC)And not to get all sidetracked by the technical aspects, but all I'm hearing about how this movie was filmed - with the same 3D cameras Avatar used only more advanced, and an insane new digital framerate - makes me all :D :D :D that I have IMAX 3D right down the freeway. SIGN ME UP.
