This:

"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

I just thought I'd share since someone is apparently making a movie of Atlas Shrugged and it's a foregone conclusion that even if the best and brightest of the movie business were working on this thing (and they're not), it would never be as good as the worst part of The Lord of the Rings--books or movies.

I thought so. It was so perfect and perfectly accurate that I couldn't not share.

Oh, that was wonderful. I was totally ready to post a fantastic rant until that last sentence. ;]

Whew! No rants necessary!

It's a variation on older jokes of times past, my favorite being the difference between a catfish and a lawyer: one is a scum-sucking, slimy bottom-dweller and the other's a fish. :D

This is me we're talking about. I thought BioShock was terrifying because it featured and objectivist's paradise. The monsters and mutants were, like, cake next to that. You should have known you were in good hands.
