Still buried under the weight of my own junk (a phrase that would have very different connotations were I male). It started out really neat; setting up my furniture, despite resulting in me smacking my head hard a bunch of times, did make the room seem more put together. I opener boxes that were homogeneous in their contents and easily put into newly arranged positions.

Then came the mess. At a certain point, you have to start opening boxes with less obvious easily housed items. Or you have to open some boxes you weren't really ready to deal with just to get them out of the way. That's when the bare minimum of order you'be managed goes right to shit.

That's where I finally left off last night. It's not ideal, seeing that that is the most depressing place to stop. But there was nothing else for it, really, seeing as it was almost two in the morning. If am being optimistic, I'd say I have finished about 60% of the unpacking. Which sounds great until I think about how that 60% in no way reflects how much is actually set up or put away.

Also, I smacked my head on the ceiling twice this morning because Oscar was knocking shit around and in my early morning haze, I forgot that my lofted bed is too high for me to sit up all the way. Yeah, I'm doing ah-maz-ing today so far. In the course of typing this post alone, I think I've perverted half the entries in my phone's dictionary. So awesome.

Aw, it sounds like you've made excellent progress, mess or not! How well have the cats adjusted to the new domicile?

They're adjusting about as well as they ever do to major upsets in their normal routine. Which is to say that they're hissing and growling and mewling pathetically as the mood suits them, and they're hiding or begging for attention depending on what will most annoy me, it seems.

This will all be over in a week, I'm guessing. Whether I'll be dis-discombobulated in that time is not as certain.

I got used to a lofted bed in my old apartment fairly quickly, but all the same, I was very happy when I didn't have to have one any more.

At least it means you won't wake up covered in cat?

What is "LjBeetle"?

I like sleeping up high, so I don't have a problem with a lofted bed. If only the ceiling were higher, I'd be totally good because I could have a loft bed that's higher in every dimension and the head-whacking would be less egregious.

As for the cats--they love it! I came back into my room one day to find them both staring down imperiously at me.

And LjBeetle is my LJ-posting client for my phone. I LOVE HAVING A SMART PHONE.

Just make sure you do *finish* moving eventually. Schedule a housewarming or something to make you do it. Otherwise you just get more and more depressed about all the stuff, until you want to chuck it out the window in a blind rage.

I am SO close to that stage. I want to, like, set all my furniture on fire, I resent it so much for being in the way and heavy and and and...

That's a good suggestion, is what I'm saying, with the housewarming. It's gonna have to happen soon.
