I posted some rather exciting pictures from the Captain America movie the other day, and then I went and pouted because it was, like, never coming out.

Then I read this article and realized it's coming out in 2011. Prior to this revelation, 2011 seemed forever away for some reason. The thing that made me realize it wasn't a year or more away? The fact that the last Harry Potter movie was listed as coming out in 2011, and I was like, "They're delaying that by a year? OH WAIT..." 2011, coming soon to an Earth near me! I don't know why 2011 seemed so far off. You guys, next year is gonna bring it in terms of hot guys in movies, which I'm sure is relevant to roughly one half of you reading this. I feel like Christmas has come early, for reals.

Why the hell did I think 2011 was so far away? I can't really figure that one out. I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that I still think it was the year 2000 yesterday. Time behaves funny when you work for a living, I guess.

But SRSLY U GUYZ, next year has Thor, The Green Lantern, and Captain America. I'm totally going to do a dance.

In other, less hormonally-driven news excitement, I got to see the first episode of The Walking Dead. Truly, it is gorgeously done. It remains to be seen if the story really takes off. Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of what they're doing with this series. However, being as well-versed as I am in zombie movie-ology, there's not yet a lot going on that hasn't gone on before in zombie movies. One thing that's actually nice is that this is a very slow story of the apocalypse. As in, the rushing around and panic aren't really the focus. It's slow and steady survives the zombies with this show. So, yeah, there's that. Hopefully, by the time I finish my test, I'll have enough episodes stored up for a good long marathon.

Maybe because this year seems to have raced past unnoticed?

I'm at least interested in all three of those movies (though "looking forward to them" might be pushing it--I have some reservations still), but not for all the reasons you are. :)

We watched the Walking Dead premiere. I thought it was well-done and creepy but slow. I'm not sure I'd bother to watch it again if jendaby hadn't already said she wanted to see the rest.

Thor, I admit, is looking more and more like it could be a disaster. It will, at least, have some hotness to it, which is why I'm still all set to see it. But Green Lantern hasn't looked horrible nor has Captain America. On a less shallow note, I think both Ryan Reynolds and Chris Evans are both underrated as serious actors. Ryan Reynolds always had potential, but Chris Evans was the one to really surprise me. (He was great in Sunshine, if you've not seen it.) I think they'll really surprise people in the roles, if the movies are done right.

Also, they're hot. I'm totally there times a thousand.

The Walking Dead is slow, I grant you. I think it will pick up, but not overly, you know? Like, more shit will be going down, but there won't be Resident Evil-levels of running around and surprise zombie attacks, etc.

Actually, I agree that Chris Evans is underrated. He was surprisingly good in Cellular. And he was fun in both the Losers and the Fantastic Four.

Ryan Reynolds I've never been a fan of, but we'll see.

With Thor it's more the direction that concerns me. I'm still not convinced we're not going to get another Ang Lee's Hulk.

I'm trying to reserve judgment. I do want to see all three, I just plan on keeping my expectations low. :)

I know Walking Dead is supposed to be slow, and it definitely works for the horror aspect. It's just tough, because it's got to be fast enough and engaging enough to keep people coming back week after week.
