[livejournal.com profile] feiran  and [livejournal.com profile] ecmyers  are married. The ceremony and reception went off without a hitch. As with all weddings that aren't at all problem during the ceremony/reception, all the drama took place before and after. Before, I and [livejournal.com profile] moonlightalice railed against the injustice of tailors that are overpaid to do a shit job while she resewed the lining in my dress and stitched another bridesmaid into her dress. (Such is [livejournal.com profile] moonlightalice 's skill that you would not have known whose was the dress if I hadn't bitched at anyone who would listen). After, I deconstructed everything I did wrong--things I left out of my speech (and things I should have), an accidental compliment that came out like a slap in the face to the step-mother of the bride), that sort of thing.

But the wedding was perfect. [livejournal.com profile] feiran was every inch of her radiant, and [livejournal.com profile] ecmyers was just as handsome. No one could say otherwise but that they looked happy and were so. Would that their every day from this point onwards will be just as fun. Love you guys!

I bungled more - I thought [livejournal.com profile] feiran's stepmother was her aunt, etc! Q makes a social gaffe, take a drink! Oh wait, don't! That'll make it worse!!!

I hope you took photos of the bridesmaid dresses before you repaired them - that could be evidence if you do decide to take this to small claims court.

I thought your speech was fantastic. It was funny and true. It followed up [livejournal.com profile] hslayer's nicely (and Ben's speech made me tear up)!

Lovely wedding. You and moonlightalice did good!

We took some photos, but not all. I don't know yet what to do about it. At the very least, I will leave reviews on business sites to complain and I will probably call them to express my displeasure. The thing is that the worst issue was not something they could really be blamed for: the cheap-ass zipper that came with the dress is the reason we had to sew the one dress.

Thanks for the kindly words about the speech. I never really practice because I have a bad habit of getting stuck in a script if I do. I then have the opposite problem of being rambling and unstructured. Hopefully, I kept that to a minimum.

It was a really good speech. It was funny and touching and complimentary to them both. Both of you did very well, I think.

Thank you both for saying as much. I'll deconstruct it in my nightmares forever probably regardless, but I'm glad I didn't completely embarrass myself. :)

You and moonlightalice did good!

Hear, hear!

I wondered the same thing as you when [livejournal.com profile] chuckro and [livejournal.com profile] jethrien got married, and I remember what you said to me: You did awesome. You sent off your best friend in style.

You had some choice anecdotes, and I feel like I forgot all of mine. But thanks! :)

I almost didn't include any because they felt too inside baseball.

I just didn't know how to start otherwise, so I kept it in.

I thought your speech was great! I know I tease you mercilessly about the one you gave at my wedding, but that's just because I am endlessly entertained that you managed to get up there and be funny and charming on zero notice. :P

Those dresses are going to give me nightmares for all time.

Each time I do that, all I can think is of the things I left out. Which is why it feels like I just made fun of Carrie and you for three minutes and then peaced out.

These dresses are a nightmare. I vote that we donate what we can to charity and then get the group together for a bonfire for your dress (unless you're going to be good, get it repaired, and then donate it, in which case, we can burn other dresses we hate in effigy).
