I made a specific point about getting through my Netflix DVDs by Monday so I could have a couple of movies to watch over Thanksgiving. I did manage to do that and to even remember to put them in the mailbox, and I'm getting my next movies Wednesday. I forgot, however, to rearrange my queue following Halloween because I've been holding onto movies longer and hadn't really noticed the selections being decidedly horror-focused.

Until, naturally, this week. I really doubt that, over the big family weekend, I'm going to find time to watch Hell's Ground and Book of Blood. I also have no memory of a) adding these movies to my queue or b) moving them up to the top of the queue. Awesome.

LMAO!!!

I need to de-horrify my Netflix queue as well, as my sister is not particularly a fan, but I suspect that will be easier to work around.

Let me know how Book of Blood is. That's somewhere in my queue, and I've always been interested to see someone else's take on Clive Barker's work.

Will do. I don't think I've watched too many Barker movies. I saw but didn't feel one way or another about Lord of Illusions. But I did really like the video game with his name on it (what his connection was to that really I'll never know), Undying.

I actually never played that one, but I really like the first couple Hellraiser movies, and even some of the sequels had potential had the directors been up to the task.

Oh right, Hellraiser. Completely unimpressed by that. Way overhyped.

I saw them before I had been really hyped, which probably made a big difference.

I haven't watched the originals in years, but I suspect that they haven't aged well, and the edges they pushed in body horror have long been surpassed by newer films with better CG/effects.
