I think someone accidentally dosed Shepard with sex spores.

Absolutely every goddamn person on the Normandy (and probably not a few off of it) has had prompts that could have led her to jump into bed with them. I first noticed this trend when someone came up to my cabin to talk. Someone else had done it already, and it was not sexual. This person comes up and starts inviting him/herself into my shower. Because I'm me, I'm all, "Sure, why not? Enjoy the Commander's shower, since it's apparently so much nicer than elsewhere on the ship and we're all going to die soon anyway!"

I know, I know. You've spotted the obvious. I...did not. I was surprised when I was then given the prompt to join this person in the shower. Bzzuh? Some variation on this kind of aggressive courtship has happened more than once. My last run through the Citadel gave me not one, not two, but three chances to jump somebody's bones; one of them was someone I had already rebuffed! I had to do it again! Jesus H. Christ, people, I realize we're all going to die, but THERE ARE PROSTITUTES ON THE CITADEL. I have better things to do! And Shepard! You're not any better! Stop leading every conversation to "So, hey, you want to do it?" ends! Behave yourself! Who do you think you are? Bastard Shepard?

On the other hand, Bastard Male Shepard is TOTALLY going to pretend to love everybody and sleep with them.

In other news, my colleagues are squealing over Diane Von Furstenburg's (I should be worried that I spelled that completely right, shouldn't I?) new line for GAP. Meanwhile, I am watching this at work, totally spellbound:

I also read this entry on a blog and cracked the fuck up at the entries "John Carter of Dune" (oh God, I'm still laughing) and "The Punisher and Batman debate the death penalty." There are some better conceptual ones (Ferris Bueller's Day of the Living Dead" was pretty inspired) but those two were especially hilarious. I'd actually pay money to see Paul Dini make the Marvel vs Capcom one.

I don't think I have anything in common with these people.

The timing needed for that performance is kind of ridiculous. Extremely impressive!

Aside from one glimpse of a person in black at the end, it's pretty damn near flawless. And great music.

I've never been in an apocalyptic scenario before, but that sort of behavior doesn't seem too out of kilter in an apocalypse. People under stress react in different ways (re: everybody glomming on to Shepard).

They do, that's true. I have no problem with them hooking up with each other. Some of them have, in fact, have, which is kind of adorable in the incarnations so far. This is why I secretly cherish the idea that the two dudes in the cargo bay will just get together already (not that their flirting isn't cute).

But they don't all have to fawn on me. There are a lot of cute people on the ship. And I'm busy.

Yes, but when the world's flying apart, your Shepard is there, energetic, determined, sympathetic, and running around talking to everybody, because you don't want to miss out on important dialogue :)

And presumably cute too, since people rarely design an ugly avatar for their hero-protagonist.

HA! That's kind of hilarious.

Holy shit, that video is mesmerizing! I'm definitely going to have to share it on my own page if I get around to posting again.
