I knew I hated 23.

First, I need to thank all the people who were, well, fuck, incredible. Let me first say a huge thank you to Carrie. She went above and beyond the call of duty this year. She's planned and planned and planned, and at the last minute had the plans messed up by my mother's attempt to be generous.

Carrie spent the last few months researching mp3 players so that I could have *the* one, seeing as I'm too fucking picky for my own good. She conferenced with my mother to make sure that she knew not to get me that. People chipped in far too generously for my own comfort...let me explain that. People who got in on this gift or would have, you are brilliant and I love you all. You guys are too generous, and I will owe you oodles for the rest of my life. Please, please, please, know that I am eternally grateful, but that's not the extent of it. I am touched. I am extremely touched, beyond word or measure. If I spend the rest of my days thinking about how kind everyone was, I'll still feel undeserving and blessed. Thank you, thank you,THANK YOU.

I'm still feeling a tad guilty about having the gift returned. Please know that, those who contributed or were going to, you are awesome, decent, wonderful people. Everytime I use the iPod, I will think of each and every one of you and know that your thoughtfulness and kindness went into my enjoyment. I think I'll start using it at work to ignore my boss, making me love you all the more. If you feel I'm being ungrateful, talk to me. I'll convince you: I really really appreciate it. As far as I'm concerned, this is the gift you got me. Thank you.

Second, who wants to party? Let's live it up and get down (though not too far down, I've got a bad track record for this sort of thing)! Friday, April 8th, we're going to go to Dallas BBQ on the east side (72nd and 3rd Ave) at 7:30 pm. After a few Texas-sized drinks, I want to head down to village karaoke for a night of singing and dancing and craziness (more sober craziness than my infamous karaoke because I'm bringing a camera this time). So, dinner for a couple of hours and then karaoke! Who's in? If you can make one but not the other, do show up; any presence is great. If you can't make it, no worries, you'll be missed!

If anyone's interested in doing something Wednesday, before I have class, I'm gonna go to dinner/Lion's Head with theKathy. After, I'm gonna probably go back to the east side to the place we got booze on Kathy's 21st, Ruby's Tap House. Let me know, gimme an im/call/e-mail/lj post...

Let's have fun.

Despite my total lack of singing skillz, I will totally join people for karaoke, but I will need to know where it is. Dallas BBQ is iffier (what the fuck does a vegetarian eat there? Maybe we just drink the liquors! hmm.)

You can probably eat the onion ring loaf. Mmmm. Mm. I'm not even sure if they have anything like salad...?

Actually, they have salads, non meat ones even. Kathy got one the last time we were there and the thing was twice the size of her. If you want to come just for the karaoke, J, that's cool, we'll bring booze along to that, too.

And we're going to Village Karaoke, down near Cooper Square (fourth, fifth, sixth street?) Right off the 6 at Astor Place, I believe.

They have fried veggie tempura, too, but it's terrifying and greasy.

I'm there. And by "I", I mean [livejournal.com profile] bigscary, using c's comp, because I'm far too lazy to log her out, etc.

I love it. It's a completely wonderful thing you did and I ::heart:: you...such good timing, too, with the pictures needing to go up from the wedding. Plus, test-driving the paid account is a fun idea, see if I like it enogh to keep up with it (I might!).

THanks doll! (heh heh, get it, your icon is a doll?)

Happy birthday! (23rd? 24th? Either way, you can celebrate the fact that you're still young.)

Happy Birthday!
