FedEx! FedEx! We love you!
Apr. 27th, 2005 10:57 amHurrah for a carrier whose failed delivery service makes sense. Whereas UPS tries three times and sends your package away forever, and the Postal Service occasionally forgets to leave a note saying you had a package at all, FedEx tries for two consecutive days and then holds your package for two days before returning it. Hurrah! I went down to midtown for my computer last night and, despite having to walk all the way over to 11th (four avenue blocks is a lot longer in that part of town), got it with no problem.
And they didn't have to wipe it or nuttin! It came out of the box with all my stuff still on it, I guess they never got around to wiping it. It made me feel a bit useless, actually, as I methodically set up my laptop and external hard drive and the USB 2.0 card key and my speakers and my mouse, ready to install drivers for all said things only to find the computer perfectly intact. I did manage to forget to clear out my cookies and internet files (I can imagine the people at HP laughing at the fact I visit only three websites ever, except they don't have a sense of humor that I'm aware of), but all else was spic-n-span. Yippie.
Have you bought tickets for the May Movie yet? Why not? About dinner before hand: I have an appointment at 4, probably finishing by 5 (I would hope), in Union Square, so I'll head on up from there, hit Midtown (again!) and be available for Wendy's or other goodies if people want. Carrie mentioned hitting the theater early, which is cool. How early, though, I dunno. I guess we can try to go in around 8:15 or so, so if people want to meet me in the lobby at 8, a small group can go up and reserve ten or so seats. Sounds like a plan, what?

Date: 2005-04-27 03:10 pm (UTC)Because the front door of the theater is still locked =-þ I'll be picking up my ticket at lunch (nice that I work right next door to the theater =-þ ).
Meeting at 8pm sounds like a good idea to me, so count me in with the early crowd =-)
