Brain dump!
May. 11th, 2005 12:29 pm1. On a fluke, I had queued up The Servant's "Cells" followed by Fluke's "Absurd." If you've seen just about any action movie in the past five years--or the trailers for them--you've heard "Absurd." It reminded me of when, at the end of Sin City, I was disappointed to hear "Absurd" in one scene. Not to slight the song at all, but Rodriguez had gone through the trouble of finding a relatively obscure song for his kick-ass trailer, and the best he could do for the actual movie was a song we've all heard a billion times? Kinda lame.
2. As much fun as it is to look at apartments and play 'visualize yourself living here,' I hate working with realtors. Our realtor yesterday was incredibly nice, laughed at us as much as with us, and all, but still.
3. I've left my much-beloved epilator at home, it turns out. And I was so looking forward to plucking a lot. Maybe I could go buy some tweezers, but that wouldn't be the same. Oh well, I can at least go buy them and do my eyebrows or something.
4. This is now a full month thereabouts whereby my room has been messier than Carrie's. This cannot stand.
5. If my family writes another sixty-five billion emails about "WHEN ARE YOU COMING TO THE WEDDING?" I will disable the yahoo list. I'm in an ugly mood where it comes to e-mails because I've been getting non-removable spam (as in, I can't click on something and unsubscribe) at my Columbia account, an account which I've scruplously guarded against such spam for nearly five years now. Also, it makes searching for e-mails from the random people I've met on the intardnet harder to find.
6. I listened to NIN's With Teeth maybe once all the way through before I bought it. Now I own it, and I still haven't really gotten through the first song. I like it, I like it a lot. Shame on me, not listening to the whole album. And don't get me started on how I've not even hardly opened the new Garbage album (whose name I don't remember...sigh).
More to be added when it comes to me.
