Coney Island tripping was fun. That place is so ghost-y already, given how much they've shut down in order to make it over anew. It's sad to think of those rides and such I didn't go on as not being there in another few weeks, but on another level it's completely understandable as some of the rides are sufficiently old and decrepit enough not to instill me with confidence in their lasting much longer anyway.
It's great that they'll keep the "classic" coaster, the Cyclone, though its memory will probably be raped when the new theme park opens to pretend like it is anything like the old Coney Island was. Personally, I'd rather they kept the tilting ferris wheel, as it was both different from normal ferris wheels and fun. Also, unlike the Cyclone, it didn't give me sprained neck muscles. No, seriously, my neck is killing me. I was so tensed against the painful jerks and throwing about you get on the Cyclone that instead of getting whiplash, I just pulled every muscle in my neck. Joy.
