Spoiler intended for [livejournal.com profile] ivy03: How the heck did you keep a straight face when I was talking about Wonder Boys and you knew--you knew!--about that trailer!?!? I wouldn't have been able to do it!!

Liked it loads, laughed a ton. I was bit disoriented by the change of moods back and forth between the disparate groups of characters and the odd cameos and the fact that even though the man is staring you in the face for half the movie, I couldn't really see Robert Downey Jr. I guess that means he did a good job. He did, to be fair. Wonder if he helped coach Jack Black on what it's like having the DTs...

I KNOW!!!! I was laughing so hurt my stomach hard. Somebody yelled at us to shut up. OMG. How is that not up on youtube by now?

When you mentioned Wonderboys, I was thinking oh. That must be how RDJ got Tobey to do the cameo.

(edited because it's too early for me to type properly)

Man, I didn't laugh half so hard at the rest of the film as I did at the trailers. Especially judging by who produced which film--i.e. Universal doing the "Scorcher" series, Fox Searchlight producing anything with a "serious" actor.

But yeah: it's so wrong that that was how we get to see Robert Downey Jr.'s O-face. I have to believe that, given some rumors of Tobey Maguire's social scene, he and RDJ are sorta kindred spirits of different generations. (Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio used to hang and run wild about ten years ago, rather infamously.)
