Zachary who?

So, most of you know I have the teensiest little crush on this guy and his goddamn fabulous eyebrows. Then I got my latest Entertainment Weekly. Little crush mostly crushed, but it's not because the Spock get-up is the quickest way to kill a girl boner ever.

It's because they had pictures of Karl Urban with his Doctor McCoy hairpiece. Pictures like this one, which do not get close enough for my liking. Or this one where he's barely in focus. Hell, this one makes him look more like Chekov than Chekov.

AND YET I AM SO ATTRACTED TO HIM I MIGHT GO BOOM.

No one is ever going to be able to talk me out of this, but I was always kind of in love with Dr. McCoy. Yes, fine, DeForrest Kelly = not that great looking, but there was enough fun about his character that I could look past that to the jumping of bones part! (HEE, BONES. I just got that.) It's like how in any anime/cartoon with a team, I always like the snarky second-in-command, sarcastic asshole character. (Hellooooooo, Lance!) So, yeah, he's funny and grumpy and I wuv him.

And Karl Urban is hot. And he's going to have that ridiculous hair and HAY YOU GUYZ WANNA GO SEE STAR TREK?

OH, CRIPES, that's weird.

Am concerned, though, that Chris Pine looks about 12 years younger than everyone else in the crew...

He also has that certain something, that je ne sais quoi. I can only sum it up as "fairly submissive queer." As I said above, he'll be in one of the great slash OTPs ever, so that should work well for him.

In all seriousness, he looks about half of everyone else's age, which includes the obviously young guys like Sulu or Spock. WTF?

I almost choked with laughter upon reading your reply. Srsly.

My coworker says, "I hear Vandel bells ringing!" but I don't know how many people that'll make sense to...

You'll have to clear up that reference for me, too. Sounds like something I will have fun using later :)

It's from a Mercedes Lackey series ... someone posted a hysterical sorta-review of them recently (semi-recently?) but I can't seem to turn it up. No, wait, I can! Now that I've got his name spelled right (coworker spelled it wrong and confused me). Vanyel in fifteen minutes (http://rachelmanija.livejournal.com/438090.html).

Ah, yes, okay, now I think I get it. I have been blessedly ignorant of Mercedes Lackey. I think, just maybe possibly, I will stay that way.
