This is a spoiler for Heroes. So, okay, I must put it behind a cut. But you must promise me to read it because I'm flipping the fuck out.

Meet Sylar's Daddy.

HOW CAN YOU DO THIS TO ME? I WAS ALL SET TO WISH YOU INTO OBLIVION AND NOW YOU HAVE CAST THE MAGNIFICENT BASTARD AND I CAN NEVER STOP WATCHING.

No, seriously, y'all, I LOOOOOOVE John Glover. I first saw him on the soon-canceled Brimstone playing the Devil. THE LITERAL DEVIL, AND IT WAS LITERALLY AWESOME. (Biden-speech for the WIN!) I can't remember much else about the show, but I remember one exchange where he was defending himself (SATAN WAS) against the accusation that he liked any thing: "The only thing I ever loved was God." (a beat, then, more horrified) "And that was a long time ago."

OH HAI, JOHN GLOVER, I LOVE YOU. I HAVE MISSED YOU SINCE I DIDN'T HAVE YOU ON SMALLVILLE NO MORES.

Okay, back under control of myself now. I shouldn't get too excited. They will only find a way to RUIN this the way they have EVERYTHING ELSE. Not to mention I'm a little over the "Bad Dad!" story line. Seriously, no one aside from Claire has had a nice father, and I'm convinced that if Mr. Bennet weren't Jack Coleman and he wasn't a main character on the show, he'd be a Bad Dad. They occasionally try to make him seem like one. But since Claire's a BRAT, and a poorly written one at that, anything she throws in Mr. B's face is re-cock-u-lous and he looks even better.

I haven't seen Heroes in weeks, but your enthusiasm makes me almost want to do so.

The second I posted this, I was like, "No, wait, wtf, they're just going to make you cry when they ruin this."

This Monday's episode wasn't terrible. It had one or two moments where I didn't feel like experimenting with bulimia rather than sit through the show. Brian Fuller is coming back, too, and the way he talks about where the show has gone wrong makes me think he might be able to fix some of the problems. (Some, not all; damage done, alas.)

BUT IT IS JOHN GLOVER. This is the guy who makes Lex Luthor look like a NOOB on Smallville. So, yeah, I exploded a little. It will be next to impossible to get over him not being Lionel Luthor, but I'm prepared to go with it until they ruin it and then start burning things down.

We used to watch Smallville and he was pretty slick evil. Of course, by the time we gave up on that show I was only watching in the hopes that Lex would wear leather pants. LOL. I never got my wish.

But it would be cool if some of the damage done to Heroes were mended.

We can only hope at this point. They added some entirely decent actors this season, and it went nowhere fast. I dunno. SIGH about Brian Fuller, though. Even if he could fix it, I DON'T WANT HIM TO HAVE THE FREE TIME. GO BACK TO PUSHING DAISIES FOREVER.

I haven't looked at the spoiler, but...does this mean I have to catch up on the show?

Hmmm, maybe? I mean, it is related to something else you've watched and that's all I'll say about that. I can say, however, that this is probably an overreaction on my part and they will find a way to ruin this guest star as they have everything else. If you could watch the episodes you've missed on fast-forward or while drinking, then maybe it's worth it. (Those episodes were REALLY bad. Maybe recaps?)

I've missed . . . no, that's not right. I *haven't seen* the last three episodes ("I wouldn't say I'm missing it, Brad."). And I find I just don't care.

John Glover is awesome, and was brilliant on Brimstone, which was a fun show in general. He was a bit too over-the-top-evil in Smallville, though that was the writers' fault and not his. But even he can't save Heroes at this point.

I Gabriell's "real" name turns out to be Ezekiel I will die, auto-rez, and die a second time.

Come on now, you got to remember how he said "Ezekiel" on Brimstone. It was half the fun ^_^

OMG SOMEONE ELSE HAS SEEN BRIMSTONE!?!?!?

No, really, I thought I was the only one. The former roommate used to tease me for liking it, but that was as close as ever I got. Oh, happy day!

John Glover was a tad over-the-top on Smallville, but that show's motto is "Go big or go home," so, yeah. YAY! JOHN GLOVER!

OH OH! SOMEONE ELSE HAS SEEN BRIMSTONE TIMES TWO!

You don't get it. I WAS SURE I WAS THE ONLY ONE. Everyone looks at me as though I've grown another head when I talk about that show. And I watched it before it was even on Sci-Fi. And now I put this up and TWO people have seen it and WHOA.

I use to make subtle Brimstone references when talking about Smallville (I guess too subtle). But yes, I use to love that show. My two favorites where the Typhoid Mary eps and the eps with the guy who attacked his while.

Wow.

And of course I've seen Brimstone. Just a few episodes on SciFi Channel reruns, but I enjoyed it. Good concept.

Dude! THAT MAKES THREE!

Of course, I should have assumed you'd seen it. You've seen everything.

Have I been hit on the head recently? Or have we all just like hidden in corners and not spoken about this to one another? WOW!

The introduction to his father will be several long, tense moments, then a musicial will start playing in the back ground and Sylar and Daddy will bust out a tune.

"All we want to do is EAT YOUR BRAINS!!"

John Glover has a musical sort of voice, so I'd look forward to that.

Of course--it makes more sense for his character and I enjoy him crazy a lot better.

=)
Killing off El was slightly unusual for him, since he already had her powers, but I have little doubt she had other knowledge that he'd find useful in her head. Plus, she was damned annoying.

I'm bloody glad that Arthur copped it, he was FAR too much Deus Ex Machina in one small package. Tracking people accross time and space, killing the unkillable, yadda yadda.

What're your feeling on the Haitian? I personally thought he was far better as a silent, stoic, on the sidelines and removing powers, and not a combatant, rather than this charging into the fight and ripping people's minds out of their heads that he is at the moment.

I don't approve of over-use of the Haitian, but he's arguably the most powerful guy on the show and they've managed not to notice that. As soon as they do, I'd probably not like him any better than Peter or Arthur. But I like him better as a fail-safe than a main character, really.

Exactly, he's supposed to be a freaking scary support character, one who even super ubers should be fearing, but using him the way they have just... cheapens it, drastically. As far as I'm concerned him needing to struggle to contain Arthur's powers, and then losing, just cheapens it even more.

Perhaps thats why he worked so well with Bennet. Bennet goes Bastard on anyone needed, Haitian prevents those pesky supers from having an unfair advantage.
Or perhaps he prevents the supers from being on even footing with the man who has an inherent unfair advantage...

Quasi tangential (if that): I thought you were getting rid of your VG Cats icons?

I debated it. I was seriously pissed enough that I didn't use them for about a month. But everyone told me I was overreacting, so I stopped being so pissy about it.
