So, how about a link to the next in the series of Austen-and-monsters literature? Could this be even better than Pride and Prejudice and Zombies?

There is a trailer. Holy shit, these are going to make even better movies than books if this is any indication.

surpised by your music selection...

I've gotten to be a curmudgeon over up in here. I listen to the classic rock station, and believe you me, I get cranky when anything from, like, 1985 on is played on it. Damn kids and their music!

But yes, I listen to some Pink Floyd now.

I just finished that book yesterday. I'm surprised at how much I genuinely love it--and not just for the zombie shtick, but for the kick ass awesomeness added to the Bennett sisters. How pathetic it is that a parody of classic literature can come up with worthier horror heroines than some of today's contemporary media.

So I'm looking forward to the new adaptation. And I want the PP&Z movie now.

What I would have liked better of PP&Z is if the Bennet sisters weren't all crazy-ass ninjas but that if the zombie menace were happening to Victorian British people who then did the British thing of really straining not to notice, you know? Like they did with Charlotte in the book, only, like for every single zombie. I'm picturing zombifying people trying to munch on their neighbors at dinner parties and everyone just coughing politely and looking away. "Lovely weather, isn't it?"

That would have been much more funny and all together more clever, but I'm still satisfied with what they did. And I look forward to Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters all the same.

I think it's telling that Jane Austen, while frequently modified and updated, never goes out of style. Hence why her heroines are so much more worth your time in any guise.

That would've been pretty hilarious too, actually. Oh, the possibilities of revamping classic lit!

I'm actually curious as to how SS&S will play out, since the preview blurb said the ratio of Austen prose to Sea Monsters mayhem would be about 60/40 (instead of PP&Z's 80/20). I'm really curious to see how they put it all together.

I look forward to the pirates, myself, but who doesn't? I already think the cover is easily as awesome as PP&Z's. What's next, do you suppose: Persuasion and Poltergeists? The Vampires of Northhanger Abbey?
